I oppose what the law states generally, but I’m not sure about Arizona or it’s situation. However, I dont believe that Florida needs this law.

    Because:

    1. Florida’s is fairly different and wouldn’t the reduce our economy greatly?

    2. Florida’s appears to do a fantastic job. I am talking about, Miami had a higher crime rate because of all of the criminals from Cuba, getting launched into Florida. Is not this problem solved, already?

    3. What the law states appears pretty offensive. I am talking about, do you want a cop coming in your direction, asking if you are a united states?

Correct me if I am wrong but dont call me stupid. Im just learning.

Consider this: In 1999, the us government required charge of the Mustang Ranch, a famous Nevada brothel. As needed legally, the feds needed to operate the company. They unsuccessful. The Mustang Ranch brothel closed.

Are you currently really comfortable getting the idiots who could not even make money selling sex and whiskey responsible for healthcare?

If you’re, I’ve got a nice 6 lane bridge in Kentucky and many hundred sea-front plots in Arizona available.

Well first of all you have to know what Uncle tom means, Uncle tom does not only include people of color but anyone who tries to please, in other words a brown nosier. Now if you know anything about Nader he is not a raciest and when he said that he stuck to his guns he did not have to apologize because he did not use in in a racial context the man is Lebanese and a first generation American and has helped out all minorities. whats really odd is that the media didn’t want to put the spotlight on him so they never made a big deal. the media and the two parties don’t want people know anything about Nader so they talk crap about him and try to keep him and his campaigns out of the spotlight.

It’s against the law to not have insurance and it is against the law to drive without insurance. Proof of either appears to be consistent. Is it not?

Did you know the Fed pumped more money into the system in one year than what the Federal government collects in taxes in a year and we’re still just plodding along.

Do Americans realize that the baby boom boom has gone bust?

Demographics, deleveraging and deflation will keep us depressed for a long time.

Is it possible that the illegals represent the denial of life liberty and the pursuit of happiness like what happened to that AZ rancher? —> http://www.keyc.com/node/35465

    Bonus questions:
    1) Why aren’t the liberal lap dog media outlets reporting on this extraordinarily high favorability percentage rating?
    2) Why are the liberal lapdog media outlets instead pounding the airwaves with the very small fringe element that is against it?
    3) Are the liberal lapdog media outlets in the tank with the far left fringe element that slipped into power on the coat tails of the anti Bush sentiment?

Because of illegals driving autos that are not insured and or not registered…stolen, loaned by the legit owner… YOUR OKLAHOMA AUTO INSURANCE IS TWO TO THREE TIMES HIGHER than it should be… In Arizona Americans are loosing their lives and Obama wants to sue Arizona over their attempting to inforce the federal law… OBAMA is causing the death rate of Americans to increase and the insurance rates to be unnecessarily high too.TEXAS IS BEING EFFECTED BY ILLEGAL… GUNFIRE… SOMEONE IN LEGISLATURE MUST DO SOMETHING LEGAL IMMEDIATELY… This is absolutely wrong… Americans everywhere stand up against this non-action on the part of the federal government…
call AAA and let them tell you why oklahoma insurance is so high… much higher than NY!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1 out of 3 to 4 drivers in oklahoma are illegal…

I have been amazed with all of the TV ads and online ads showing young adults “claiming” that you can get auto insurance for under $30 per month.

I am 48 years old, live in Los Angeles, have a clean driving record, no tickets or accidents in over 10 years. So I went to my neighborhood insurance broker a few weeks ago and he told me that the only way a person could get the minimum insurance required by the state of California, they would have to be at least 70+ years old, driving a 70’s Buick, with a clean driving record. LOL!!!

Yet since I just seen a commercial on TV a few minutes ago, showing the typical young adults (between 18 to 25 years of age) so happy and perky that they are able to get auto insurance for less than $30 a month, I figured I would toss this question out to “Answers Yahoo” to see if there are any such insurance companies here in California, that offers the basic auto insurance required by law in California for someone my age and with my driving record for less than $30 per month.

    arizona.

jp morgan chase auto finance has been my lien-holder since the loan started. i have never had a late or insufficient payment. the vehicle has always been fully insured and registration has been always been current.

my driver’s license was suspended by arizona motor vehicle as i had sped by too many automatic cameras. i was pulled over for failing to come to a complete stop at an intersection and since i wasn’t licensed, my truck was impounded and a 30-day hold was established by scottsdale police – they would issue a release form in a month if i could get my delinquencies taken care of.

30 days later, i went to the scottsdale police department with a copy of my insurance, registration, license, and $150 processing fee: all i needed to retrieve my truck from the impound lot.

the impound lot told me chase auto had taken my truck before the 30-day hold was up. chase refuses to release the truck to me, and i have received notice of repossession – after the fact.

    am i screwed?

In Arizona, I received a speed camera ticket in the mail.

I was doing 77 in a 65. I am man enough to admit I could of been going fast, though there are some times where you need to increase you speed a little such as passing, merging, avoiding an accident.

I remembered when the camera flashed at me. I was going fast in order to merge into a exit lane.
I can’t prove this, so I don’t even know if that would even be an excuse in court.
I do think it sucks though as other cars on the road were going just as fast. I probably was just in that position on the road for the camera to get a good photo of me and my tags.

I know some of you will say slow down and pay the fine…a hefty $201.50 and some of you will say that you must be served in person in order for the ticket to be valid.

** My concern is it better to just pay the fine and learn to watch my speed. $201.50 is alot of money to me, but I am more worried if speed camera tickets in AZ will cause my auto insurance to go up or get points added to my driving record.
I fear that with my bad luck, if I do ignore the ticket, I’ll be one of the few who will be served in person and end up paying extra fees for that and having my insurance go up because I ignored paying the ticket.

But then, AZ is slowly getting rid of their speed cameras so I don’t know if this will help me at all with not having to pay the fine.

We bought those states off the Mexicans in the 1800s. Your government sold your people out not us. STOP WHINING! VIVA SB 1070!

Arizona law is constitutional as it is just and humane.

It will help Mexico in the long run by cleaning up their government. If only Mexicans protested there like they do here in the USA.

Here’s the situation: My grandmother passed away last month and at the time of her death, she owned a home and 2 cars. My uncle has been named the executor of her estate and has asked me to go out and take care of her estate in Arizona until he can get out there in January. And right now, we have her entire estate including her cars going through probate court. What I would like to know is would it be possible for me to get insurance on one of her cars so that I can use it while I’m down there?

PS: For those of you who don’t know, Arizona state law requires all vehicles driven on the road to be insured.

lets say you where rich…..the law say:

“owners and operators of motor vehicles to be financially responsible for damages and/or injuries they may cause to others when a motor vehicle crash happens.”

so..that means if you had enough money in a bank account that you set aside just for auto you wouldn’t have to pay insurance at all?

  30. Mark March 24, 2013 at 10:40 pm #

For a few years, police were not allowed to ask for auto insurance from motorists. Much of the argument in favor of that law was that it discriminated against poor Mexicans. It was overturned eventually as auto insurance violations/irresponsibility became epidemic. How does this relate to the current law in Arizona? How does it relate to the mandatory health insurance law?
Jack I do carry my passport card, but that is irrelevant. If you have a drivers license, you are obviously authorized to be here. The law does not say aliens cannot be here-only that illegal aliens cannot be here.
The reason innocent people are inconvenienced with insurance they may never use is because not-so-innocent people drive without having the ability to pay. This is similar to mandatory health insurance-they will even make sure Rush buys it. Likewise, the reason citizens have been driven to this level of security is because the illegal alien problem is epidemic. Rights only exist in proportion to the degree in which the law is obeyed in any area. A law abiding society retains many rights, one infested with illegalities is highly restricted.
Jack do not make a further fool of yourself. You are already looking stupid enough as is. Passport cards have been issued for a few years now for North American travel. I have both the book and the card. Here: http://travel.state.gov/passport/ppt_card/ppt_card_3926.html

REALLY believe that ILLEGAL Immigration does not cost our economy?

I was reading an article on changes in car theft technologies.
At the end it had a list of the worst cities for car theft.

Rank (by density)/ Metropolitan / Vehicles Stolen
    1. Laredo, TX 1,792
    2. Modesto, CA 3,712
    3. Bakersfield, CA 5,530
    4. Stockton, CA 4,479
    5. Fresno, CA5,875
    6. Yakima, WA1,525
    7. San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont, CA 26,374
    8. Visalia-Porterville, CA 2,440
    9. Las Vegas-Paradise, NV 10,706
    10. Albuquerque, NM 4,815
Source: Auto thefts by cities 2009; National Insurance Crime Bureau
    http://autos.aol.com/article/new-car-theft-trends/

Now gee, all but one of those cities is in a border state with a high concentration of ILLEGAL immigrants, and that city Yakima, WA has a well documented problem with ILLEGAL Immigrants, particularly as regard to those involved in crime.

No surprisingly ILLEGAL immigrants also have a high level of NON-compliance in regards to Auto INSURANCE regulations, and we all know who ends up paying for that!

Who are the people complaining about IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT trying to kid?

It certainly isn’t anyone who actually READS!
Tonalc2 – I make the REASONABLE assumption, that since the higher concentration of Illegals CORRESPONDS to the higher concentration of car thefts that they are likely involved. Together with those EXACT statements regarding that crime by the LOCAL police seems a fair bet.
TheOrangeEvil – I said BORDER STATES and unless CA has moved the WHOLE state is a BORDER STATE.
    Me Smart, You Dumb
I do not understand how expecting EVERYONE, regardless of national origin, to follow our laws, equates to hating Hispanics!!!

Our Immigration laws need to be revised to meet the realities of todays society, just as they were revised in the early 20th century, at which point South American countries were given an UNFAIR advantage (quota) to the detriment of Asians and Africans, etc..

New Mexico is seeing an increase in the amount of people applying for driver’s licenses, and some say it all stems back to immigration.
That’s because New Mexico is one of only three states that doesn’t require proof of legal residency to get a driver’s license.

Since there’s been an increase in foreign nationals getting licenses since the passing of Arizona’s new immigration bill, some say more illegal immigrants are coming here because of what they consider laxer laws.

But others say it’s in the books for public safety.

“If an undocumented person is denied a drivers license then they will not be able to get automobile insurance,” said representative Antonio Lujan of district 35.

Tonight on NewsChannel 9 at 10 we’ll hear from another New Mexico lawmaker who says he wants to see this brought up again in the next legislative session in January.http://www.ktsm.com/news/more-people-going-to-new-mexico-to-get-a-license
How does an illegal afford auto insurance when 99.9& of them live of welfare & food stamps or do they want free auto insurance for illegals also ?

Utah Representative Steve Sandstrom recently announced that he is drafting legislation similar to Arizona’s new immigration law.

Sandstrom is already being accused of promoting racial profiling by the advocates for illegal aliens in spite of the fact that Utah currently has a process in place that allows illegal aliens to voluntarily self-identify by obtaining a state issued Driving Privilege Card (DPC).

According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, “A person who would need to obtain a Utah Driving Privilege Card (DPC) would be: Individuals who are unable to establish legal/lawful presence and who are ineligible for a US Social Security Number.”

The DPC exists because of pressure from illegal aliens and their advocates. It has been argued by some that the DPC is the result of blackmail by illegal aliens who tell Utahns, in effect, that if you don’t grant us official driving privileges we will ignore your traffic laws just like we ignore your immigration and identity theft laws. We will drive without licenses and we will drive without auto insurance. We will injure you and we will kill you and your loved ones in traffic accidents if you don’t comply with our demands.
Initially, Utah issued full-fledged drivers licenses to individuals unlawfully in the United States. This practice ended when a state audit discovered massive drivers license fraud and found that illegal aliens had registered to vote in Utah.

Once drivers licenses were no longer available and again at the urging of illegal aliens and their advocates which included the taxpayer funded Office of Ethnic Affairs, the state implemented a DPC. The Card was issued to both illegal aliens and foreign nationals who were legally in the United States making it impossible to tell if the holder of the DPC was in the United States legally or illegally.

In 2009, in order to enhance the security of Utah’s drivers license, the legislature created three classes of driving permits – a regular drivers license for citizens, a time limited regular drivers license for foreign nationals who were temporarily and legally in the United States, and a DPC for anyone who could not provide proof of legal presence in the United States.

I heard in a lot of debate about illegal immigrants and how they care free services such as health care. I became a U.S citizen two years ago and I’ve been trying to find cheaper and quality health care, but I couldn’t. I researched free health care online, but can’t find it. I don’t have health insurance, so whenever I visit the doctor, I either pay upfront if it’s about $200 or they send me the bills if its way higher. So how are illegal immigrants getting free health care?

  37. Gavin March 26, 2013 at 12:39 am #

Estimates are that 20-40% of uncompensated (“free”) medical services are provided to people in the US illegally. The actual number may be much higher. Shockingly, hospitals and clinics don’t ask about citizenship…a medical version of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”

In both Tucson and Dallas where I have practiced medicine, hospitals are struggling under massive costs of uncompensated medical services for uninsured people who, by federal law, cannot be turned away for lack of insurance or ability to pay.

How much does this uncompensated care actually cost taxpayers? The incredible answer: no one knows.

We only have “estimates” of the costs to taxpayers to treat illegal immigrants because hospitals and public health clinics do not ask for proof of citizenship before providing care.

What are consequences to taxpaying citizens?

    1. Increased cost and reduced access to trauma care. Tucson has lost all but one Level I Trauma Center to serve all of southern Arizona, in large part due to massive, unsustainable losses from uncompensated care. Auto accidents involving overloaded vans of illegal aliens happen regularly in southern Arizona. Injured are flown by air ambulance to University Medical Center’s Trauma Center and treated with state of the art care….all at taxpayer expense.

    2. A registered nurse involved with the Pima County health system since the 1970’s who must remain anonymous because of her role, said she has never seen any staff member at either El Rio Clinic or Pima County Health Department ask for proof of citizenship before providing free medical services (immunizations, Well Baby checks, food stamps, WIC services, birth control, and even elective abortions). Costs are paid by taxpayers. When funds are depleted, low income American citizens have fewer services and longer waits as a result.

    3. This same RN also said: “I personally know Mexican men who married 16 year old girls, got them pregnant, brought them to Tucson for the baby to become a US citizen. They live in Mexico but come here for their health care. Taxpayers pay for this medical care many ways, at the Public Health Department, and with school nurses who provide care.”

    4. Uncompensated medical services for illegal immigrants mean higher premiums for all of us due to cost shifting among all third party payers. To cover the deficits from “free” medical services they provide, the administration at University Physicians Health System Kino campus is analyzing how much to increase employee health insurance premiums as of July 1.

and why do you think so?

  43. Karly March 28, 2013 at 5:54 am #

    From a SW Bell employee:

“I spent five years working in Mexico. I worked under a tourist Visa for three months and could legally renew it for three more months. After that you were working illegally. I was technically illegal for three weeks waiting on the FM3 approval.

“During that six months our Mexican and U.S. attorneys were working to secure a permanent work visa called a ‘FM3’. It was in addition to my U.S. passport that I had to show each time I entered and left the country. Barbara’s was the same, except hers did not permit her to work.

“To apply for the FM3, I needed to submit the following notarized originals (not copies):
    1. Birth certificate for Barbara and me.
    2. Marriage certificate.
    3. High school transcripts and proof of graduation.
    4. College transcripts for every college I attended and proof of graduation.
    5. Two letters of recommendation from supervisors I had worked for at least one year.
    6. A letter from the St. Louis Chief of Police indicating that I had no arrest record in the U.S. and no outstanding warrants and, was “a citizen in good standing”.
    7. “Finally, I had to write a letter about myself that clearly stated why there was no Mexican citizen with my skills and why my skills were important to Mexico. We called it our ‘I am the greatest person on Earth’ letter. It was fun to write.”

“All of the above were in English that had to be translated into Spanish and be certified as legal translations, and our signatures notarized. It produced a folder about 1.5 inches thick with English on the left side & Spanish on the right.”

“Once they were completed Barbara and I spent about five hours, accompanied by a Mexican attorney, touring Mexican government office locations and being photographed and fingerprinted at least three times at each location, and we remember at least four locations where we were instructed on Mexican tax, labor, housing, and criminal law and that we were required to obey their laws or face the consequences. We could not protest any of the government’s actions or we would be committing a felony. We paid out four thousand dollars in fees and bribes to complete the process. When this was done we could legally bring in our household goods that were held by U.S. Customs in Laredo, Texas. This meant we had rented furniture in Mexico while awaiting our goods. There were extensive fees involved here that the company paid.”

“We could not buy a home and were required to rent at very high rates and under contract and compliance with Mexican law.”

“We were required to get a Mexican driver’s license. This was an amazing process. The company arranged for the licensing agency to come to our headquarters location with their photography and fingerprint equipment and the laminating machine. We showed our U.S. license, were photographed and fingerprinted again and issued the license instantly after paying out a six dollar fee. We did not take a written or driving test and never received instructions on the rules of the road. Our only instruction was to never give a policeman your license if stopped and asked. We were instructed to hold it against the inside window away from his grasp. If he got his hands on it you would have to pay ransom to get it back. ”

“We then had to pay and file Mexican income tax annually using the number of our FM3 as our ID number. The company’s Mexican accountants did this for us and we just signed what they prepared. It was about twenty legal size pages annually.”

“The FM3 was good for three years and renewable for two more after paying more fees.”

“Leaving the country meant turning in the FM3 and certifying we were leaving no debts behind and no outstanding legal affairs (warrants, tickets or liens) before our household goods were released to customs.”

“It was a real adventure and if any of our Senators or Congressmen went through it once they would have a different attitude toward Mexico.”

“The Mexican government uses its vast military and police forces to keep its citizens intimidated and compliant. They never protest at their capitol or government offices, but do protest daily in front of the United States Embassy. The U.S. Embassy looks like a strongly reinforced fortress and during most protests the Mexican military surrounds the block with their men standing shoulder to shoulder in full riot gear to protect the Embassy. These protests are never shown on U.S. or Mexican TV. There is a large public park across the street where they do their protesting. Anything can cause a protest such as proposed law changes in California or Texas.”

    SANTA FE, N.M. —
All eyes are on Arizona now that the state’s controversial immigration law goes into effect on Thursday.

New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson is vowing to protect New Mexicans if the law goes into effect.

After months of protests and controversy, in a matter of days Arizona’s immigration law is going into effect.

“We’re keeping a very close eye because it affects New Mexico,” Richardson said.

Those in favor of the law said it will help crack down on illegal immigration, but opponents said they believe it will lead to widespread racial profiling.

“I think it’s unconstitutional. I think it’s going to racially profile. I think it hurts our relationship with countries in Latin America,” Richardson said.

A judge could stop the law before it starts and that’s exactly what Richardson said he hopes to see happen sometime before Thursday.

“So my hope is that the judge stays the Arizona law that it be held up and not happen,” Richardson said.

Whether it happens or not, Richardson said this should not be a state issue.

“I know that Arizonans are frustrated and so are we, that we don’t have federal immigration policy, but you don’t take matters into your own hands,” Richardson said.

If the law does go into effect, what, if anything, can Richardson do for the residents of New Mexico?

“What Sen. Bingaman and I have tried to do, is make sure that our civil rights division, the Justice Department ensures that there’s no racially profiling of New Mexicans and that’s a possibility if the law takes affect,” Richardson said.

Richardson has been one of the most vocal opponents of the law on the national.

This past week, a judge heard arguments in the Justice Department’s challenge of Arizona’s law.
    http://www.koat.com/news/24387668/detail.html

Why doesn’t Richardson invite anyone who feels they could be subjected to Racial Profiling to move to Next Mexico ?

Four pages of Obama “false” statements – I call them what they are, lies:

Tampa Bay Times (Pulitzer Prize winner)

    http://www.politifact.com/personalities/barack-obama/statements/byruling/false/

-“Under Gov. Romney’s definition … Donald Trump is a small business.”
-Because of Obamacare, “over the last two years, health care premiums have gone up — it’s true — but they’ve gone up slower than any time in the last 50 years.”
-“Over the last four years, the deficit has gone up, but 90 percent of that is as a consequence of” President George W. Bush’s policies and the recession.
-“Fast and Furious” began under the Bush administration.
-Mitt Romney “says the Arizona immigration law should be a model for the nation.”
-Says Mitt Romney would deny gay people the right to adopt children.
-“The only time government employment has gone down during a recession has been under me.”
-“Under the Romney/Ryan budget, interest rates on federal student loans would be allowed to double.”
-If the Supreme Court throws out the federal health care law, it “would be an unprecedented, extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected Congress.”
-“For the first time since 1990, American manufacturers are creating new jobs.”
-“Thirty million Americans, including a lot of people in Florida, are going to be able to get healthcare next year because of that law.”
-“I made a bunch of these promises during the campaign. … We’ve got about 60 percent done in three years.”
-Under President Barack Obama, the United States has “doubled our exports.”
-The president’s proposed budget “will help reduce the deficit by $400 billion over the next decade to the lowest level since Dwight Eisenhower was president.”
-Under the White House’s budget proposal, “we will not be adding more to the national debt” by the middle of the decade.
-Twelve judges have thrown out legal challenges to the health care law because they rejected “the notion that the health care law was unconstitutional.”
    -“I didn’t raise taxes once.”
-When President Franklin D. Roosevelt started Social Security, “it only affected widows and orphans,” and when Medicare began, “it was a small program.”
-The Bush administration had been “giving (auto companies) billions of dollars and just asking nothing in return.”
-“The vast majority of the money I got was from small donors all across the country.”
-“We’ve excluded lobbyists from policymaking jobs.”
-Insurers delayed an Illinois man’s treatment, “and he died because of it.”
-Health reform will “give every American the same opportunity” to buy health insurance the way members of Congress do.
-“I have not said that I was a single-payer supporter.”

I’m British and I’m curious because in England everyone seems to think Obama is a great president and during the election most people I spoke to would vote Obama if they were American and everyone couldn’t believe how anyone would choose mitt Romney?

Please list if you know, I have one myself.
    Here is mine.

Obama said (Well lets say “promised”) to withdrawal most troops from the Middle East.

Now, he is talking about that Syria crossed his red line (Whenever he made that up) and that he was ready to take action against Syria.

It’s not even 2014 yet, which is when troops are suppose to start withdrawing, and now he wants to start a war with Syria? What happened to our troops coming home and not being killed over a country and conflict that isn’t even our own?
