I needed to lodge a complaint against a auto car dealership within Maryland. While dealing with Bbb website, it appeared as if they hear you out of trouble and inform the company regarding your complaint, they try it again in 2 days when they don’t hear anything. Then your situation shuts in thirty days. What action will they take if clients are in the fault? Don’t realize the entire procedure. Any ideas??

We have a tad over 8 months until our wedding. Is now a good time to book a DJ? I’ve checked out 3 local DJs on Yelp and the Better Business Bureau and I think I’ve narrowed my search down to 2 possible DJs. Now I need to meet with them. Is this something that should have been planned earlier than now?

Some ideas I’ve already had include reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and picketing in front of the business. Would these steps do anything? What else can I do? Hire a lawyer?
The business is my dentist. I got the wrong material in my fillings and got overcharged $100. It doesn’t seem like much money, but it makes me so angry, and I don’t want other people to make the same mistake I did.

I have a small retail business. I have been invited to join the Better Business Bureau. I am familiar with the BBB but before I join would like to get some opinions on the advantages of becoming a member. Are there any disadvantages to joining?

I just discovered that the temp agency my brother works for does not submit their quaterly earnings to the IRS and they are not affiliated with the Better Business Bureau. Is this illegal? If so, how do I report them so that they can go out of business? Something tells me that this is a shady business to begin with.

I.e. should I send a copy to the Attorney General’s office, the Better Business Bureau, Department of Transportation, etc…
I should add that the issue in question is one of safety and maintenance that could have resulted in injury or death.

I thought every business has to register with the Better Business Bureau-wether they have had a complaint or not. Is this not true? I need a painter and a landscaper and I couldn’t find any of the 3 I’ve gotten quotes from. Why is that?

I have a client of mine that has an online ecommerce business and is looking for certain online certifications to help build credibility and trust for those looking to do business with him. He’s been online for about 20 years, and is looking for a way to encourage customers to do business with him and feel safe and secure in purchasing his products. Other than the Better Business Bureau, what are other certifications and “stamps of approval” programs that are online that would benefit him?

Here in the US we can complain about a business to the Better Business Bureau and the local Chamber of Commerce if we feel they have been unfair in a dealing. Is there a similar organization in London. If so, how does one contact it ?
I would rather not name the specific company yet, I am giving them every chance to fix this problem. Let’s just say it is a bus tour company which operates in London

I am considering a position w/ InSphere Insurance Solutions, and want to make sure that they are a “GOOD” company. Are They listed with the Better Business Bureau?

  18. Victoria February 19, 2013 at 11:35 pm #

Currently, I have three choices in mind. The local company charges the highest, while the other two are online and charge far less. However, the two online ones have had numerous complaints with the Better Business Bureau, all of which have been resolved, while the local one has had no complaints. Which should I go with?

I bought a pair of medical stockings, they were to small. I returned them to the store and was given a credit slip. The owner(of a small mom & pa Medical supply place)said it would be on my account next day, found out it wasn’t in the mean time she said she had to return them to manufacturer, cause they were worn. 2 weeks go by and I contacted the bank to dipute it and also Better Business Bureau on her. Then yesterday she finally gives me the credit. This am I checked my account and she debiited me again. So now the bank is asking for her fax number, I know she won’t give it to me. SO how would I find it without paying a fee on line?

I was in an accident damaging the right rear quarter panel of a 2000 Mercury Cougar, and am looking into side businesses to repair it. I have found a few that can do it relatively fast and cheap. They have references that claim good work, but is there a way for me to know if they are for real? Better Business Bureau doesn’t have them listed… any help?

I need to photograph some welders working, and it would be incredibly obnoxious for me to try to do so while wearing an auto-darkening hood, or worse, a standard dark hood. I have fitted my camera (SLR) with a polarized filter in hopes that that might help at least a little, even if my shots do end up darker.

I would like to buy a first telescope and don’t want to spend more than £200. I would really like to be able to use it for photography of planets. I wondered if I could use this telescope to take some pictures using either an SLR, or a standard Canon Powershot IXUS 80 IS. I get offers all the time from Blue Sky and Capital One for pre-approved auto loans up to $30,000 but they never state any terms in the offer. They want you to go and see a dealer before any particulars are disclosed.

Anyway, have any of you bought a car this way or know how it works? What is the interest rate range, lowest to highest? I’m in California, if that matters.
    Thanks!

The cars in excellent condition. I looked it up on Kelly Blue Book and couldn’t believe what price they where giving me to sell it to a private party! At max it said $19,000 something, I paid close to $32,000 for it.

I’m pretty new to using photoshop; I understand the basics though. I recently scanned some of my old negatives and I noticed that some of them had stripes of discoloration across them. I’m guessing this is due to improper development because the lines are clearly defined. For example, on blue sky some parts are blue, others are clearly off color pink or purple. I’ve tried the obvious, such as the healing tool and using auto-tone and color. It fixes it a bit but the area is too large to fix with auto tools. Any ideas what to do?

  46. Alton March 24, 2013 at 6:16 pm #

Let’s say the sky’s more or less blue. Whenever I take a picture, it turns out grey like a storm! What causes this, and more importantly, how can I prevent it? I use a Nikon D3000.
    This one, for example: http://www.flickr.com/photos/61398691@N07/5692386089/in/photostream

It wasn’t exactly a perfect day, but it was much more blue than that.

What is a good name for him?
I like the idea of having a long name, and having a little nickname for him. Like, Wind Dancer – nickname Windy

If you had an idea with something like the wind, I like that, too.

My damages in an accident are being objected to by my own insurance company. The first one is that my Chiropractor put in writing that it would take up to an additional 12 months of treatment at a cost of $5000. The insurance company says since I was released and did not treat for 7 months, but went back recently to the Chiropractor for additional treatment because of I am still having problems that my future medicals don’t count. Also I have two doctors put in writing that I had to resign a job and will not be able to work for a 12 month to 18 month period because of the return of my chronic pain which has in turn aggravated my bipolar manic depression. I also have been diagnosed with somatoform pain disorder prior to this motor vehicle accident. Plus I have cervical spondylosis and degeneration. The guy’s insurance company that hit me from behind says he is only covered for 15k for this accident. I filed suit against him and his insurance company and all of a sudden their offer went from 7000 to 13500 overnight. I still feel that my claim is worth quite a bit more, since my current medicals were 6000 dollars and my projected future cost was an additional 5000 treatment. I spent 5 months thus far treating with the Chiropractor. Also, I had to resign from my part time job, that I was compensated and provided with a brand new car to drive, gas, and insurance was paid. I had to purchase another car because I had to relinquish the other new car when I had to resign. The insurance company acted as if my compensation for my services , was not valued at anything, but I looked up how much a new car, insurance , and fuel would run me, if I had to pay out of pocket and it came to about 800 to 900 per month. I worked a this part time job for 2 years and really hated to let it go, but when your bipolar and cant sleep and in pain a large majority of your day and or night, it makes it really hard to maintain a job that requires that you stay alert and awake. The defendant’s insurance company is giving me the run around about giving me their insured’s policy limits , which it is so obvious that they have been lying to me the whole time. Now it looks like I got to go through another round of bull crap from this new adjuster. I read the insurance laws of my state, and it appears that in order for me to settle with the defendant’s insurance company for any amount, I have to get a letter of release from my insurance company to do so. If I settle without consent of my insurance company , it will affect my right to receive any uninsured motorist coverage from my own insurance coverage. It also appears if my uninsured motorist pays my my uninsured motorist claim first, before the defendant’s insurance company pays me first, then my insurance company will be able to subrogate a claim against the defendant who hit me and make him pay them back for paying me. I believe I read the law right but man dealing with insurance adjusters is just sick, they tell you the sky is blue, when it is black and vice versa. I guess everyone has a job to do, but the amount of insurance I have paid over the years, then to be treated like your some kind of dummy just isn’t right. Any suggestions am I on the right track, or am I not doing something right. Can’t sleep in pain..

If you think ‘depends on the model’, I’m just curious about some general rules regardless of what car model.

If we have flying cars, wouldn’t they ruin the beauty of looking at blues skys and sunsets? I mean, apparently, technology is going to make it where vitually everyone is going to own a plane or helicopter with duct vents instead of blades where computers will guide it, making it easier to own one.

So, wouldn’t the skys be congested (like having a massive freeway in the sky), thus spoiling the natural beauty of the sky and nature? Or, would these new vehicles be controlled and only allowed to fly in certain places?

  73. Demetrius March 30, 2013 at 3:34 pm #

I have recently bought my first DSLR. I live in dreary Great Britain so the weather isn’t amazing and pictures can look a bit dull. This morning there was an amazing orange sky at sunrise and wanted to take a picture but when it came out, the oranges looked nowhere as good as in reality.
I hear filters can help define colours, brighten them, darken them and make them a lot more powerful.
Which filters would you recommend for my Canon 450D (Rebel XSi if you’re American)

    Thanx in advance

I am in the first stage of trying to resolve a dispute with Ford regarding my 2 year old van. It has been repaired for traction control issues 6 times and is still not fixed. We have submitted paperwork to the better business bureau automotive department and are waiting for a reply from Ford. I am not sure what I should expect from their offer. Anyone have any experiences with this type of issue?

Do I file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau? If so, do I have to go into my closest office to file the complaint or can it be done online? Also, what happens once a complaint has been made? Does it take a certain amount of complaints for any action to be made against them? How does it work? I’m really sorry for so many questions but your help is definitely appreciated. Thank you times a hundred!

I am looking into enrolling into a language school. The name of it is Global Village Language Center here in Saint Louis. I am attempting to get a head start in learning Mandarin for degree I’m working toward (international relations). The problem is I’ve been trying to find out if this school is legit, but I don’t know how to find out. I’ve tried the better business bureau but they’re not registered there. Is there some where else I should look or if you know anything that will help me in getting a good head start in learning Mandarin(because I know it’s not easy but its worth it to me) I would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance……

I was having some problems with my older dodge truck, with break and front end noise. I took it to my mechanic and he replaced the break shoes and pads, disc rotor, caliper, wheel hub and steering knuckle. The mechanic gave me an estimate for between $800-$900 which was on target. No problem so far. I was told there was still more work to do, I didn’t know how much, but that it could be done later. I had taken the truck to another garage for front end alignment and they informed me that the remaining work would run around $145 and could be done in an afternoon. OK so far. A month or so later, I brought the truck back to the first garage since since I had done business with them before. I left the truck over a weekend expecting an estimate of how much everything would cost. Had not heard from them for a couple days so I called to check on the truck and no answer, so I left a message for the mechanic to call me back. Next day I called again and left another message for the mechanic to call me back. No response, so I went to the garage after I got off work and was told they had just finished. I had expected an estimate before they started the work, because I had no intention of putting another grand into this truck. The mechanic gave me a bill for over $900. He showed me a breakdown of the bill which showed replacement of control arms and control arm bushings, torsion bar, stabilizer bar control link, plus labor. I don’t even dispute the cost of the parts or labor. However, the only “estimate” that I had seen was after the work was completed and it was too late to say no. I addressed this with the mechanic and said that if I had been given an estimate before the work had started, I would not have authorized the work and would have let that old truck sit in front of my house for a while. Just did not want to put anymore significant money into it. The mechanic adjusted the bill to give me a discount of $100 and threw in a free front end alignment for not giving an estimate before the work had started. Not that helpful. I don’t expect to get anymore money back and I am not looking for free labor but I feel very ripped off. Is this worthy or reporting to the better business bureau, for completing the work without giving an estimate for my approval ahead of time?
I guess I should add that I checked with the BBB after the fact and see that he has an F-rating already.

I recently lost a job because I took too many smoke breaks. I took as many smoke breaks as the employee training me. I worked 9 to 11 hour shifts (only for a week) and was not allowed any lunch break or 15 minute breaks, etc. I was allowed to eat on the clock, but not allowed to sit down (that was the main reason I took smoke breaks).

I understand that the Better Business Bureau focuses more toward customers than employees.

If you have some information or websites please let me know.

I received a letter in the mail from a company that I have never heard of. They said that I could buy items from that at great low prices. But most of the items listed are high priced items such as laptops, HD TVs, gold jewelry, etc.

I tried to do some research on them on the net but I have found nothing. I checked with the Better Business Bureau. They business is not a registered member but they are however listed as a “non-registered” member. Even with that the only thing they have about that business is their company I.D.

Since they have a company I.D. does this make them legit?

My online stock broker told me, “You bought 800 shares and sold 900 shares, so were short 100 shares.”

In reality, If I placed an order to sell more shares of stocks then I had, the order would be rejected, I would get an error message. It means that statement by my broker isn’t true and very very stupid.

I sent several email to them, they ignored them. What can I do?

we have been receiving continual harassment from our landlord, saying we have failed to pay rent when we hadn’t and were able to prove it, receiving eviction notices without justification. turns out it was a ploy in order to get us out so they could move the nephew of the owner in. the tenants in the downstairs of our duplex are no less irritated with the property management group. we recently filed a complaint with the better business bureau. now, the landlord is threatening a 48 hour eviction unless we close the case against them. this does not seem like it should be legal. i am hoping it isn’t.

I went through depression for several years, and even though I haven’t been depressed in a long time it seems I can’t seem to get away from the mass highway of thoughts. I mean someone can talk to me and I’ll go through a conversation well enough, but it seems the thoughts go so fast I barely realize it ever entered and exited my mind. My mind crunches so many thoughts so fast and all at the same time it seems I’m more inside my head than me you know? Like I’ll be driving, and driving fine, but I’m almost on auto pilot and myself is there among the thoughts. I see my friends being alert completely aware, but I never seem to be able to stop thinking. enough to say look thoroughly for something I have been asked, or be able to converse like they do, you know lead a very funny outgoing conversation like they can, because I’m stuck in my thoughts. Now don’t I don’t mean a specific thought, just so many of anything and everything, that I’m constantly sorting. Like it’s really rare for me not to have a song constant on my mind, like a radio to my thoughts. More than anything I would like to get away from the high detailed mess in my head and talk like everybody else, and be a very alert person. Does anybody know what this is like?

I had an issue with a car dealership in which the Better Business Bureau was involved and certain things happened that I found to be questionable. I there an agency or a publication that is known for putting the word out?
The wording may have been confusing, but the BBB was the agency that I question because after I got in touch with them the car dealership removed the warranty stickers that it had on their cars and I was not compensated for the illegal actions of the car dealership in my initial complaint. The BBB closed my case.

I’m thinking about signing up for a Wellness Plan at Banfield Pet Hospital. I would pay about $20 per month, and that would cover office visits, diagnostic tests, dental cleanings, etc. I checked them out with the Better Business Bureau, and they have an A grade (not A+), but one of the common complaints is that they give a quote for services, but the actual charges are a lot higher.

I thought I heard somewhere that if a company gives a written estimate, then they can’t charge more than 10 or 15% over it. Is that true? Does it depend on the state I live in (Minnesota)? If it’s true then I can just get a written estimate for everything.

Hi all. I’ve been into photography for over 6 years now but only in the last 3 have I actively gotten into landscapes. Ever since I bought my Nikon D5100 back in April 2012 I’ve been noticing no matter what settings I shoot in the skies and landscapes come out REALLY grainy. I thought it was the dlighting at first but after I turned that off the shots still basically came out the same. Another curious thing I noticed is that the shots come out the same of landscapes with my Nikon P510 Point & Shoot. So I’m obviously doing something wrong.

Here are my settings I usually shoot at for landscapes..

    Aperture Priority
    ISO 100 (at all times)
    f/stop varying depending on lighting
    dlighting off
    Maxtrix Metering
    White Balance Auto
Picture Control Set at Landscape (But the results some out the same no matter how sharp or not sharp it is set at)
Exposure Compensation varying depending on lighting
Auto Focus Area Mode at Auto
    Focus Mode at Single-servo AF
    Image Quality FINE

I’ve tried multiple different settings but poor results are present every time. Often everything doesn’t seem too well focused either and the shots come out either too bright or too dark, there’s no in between.

The grain is especially noticeable with blue skies, clouds, or a hill with pine trees in the shot. The pictures naturally come out grainy on the camera and they look like crap the moment I look at them on the computer.

I use a Nikkor 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S DX with my Nikon D5100 for landscapes. I do have a circular polarizer filter but again the grain comes out the same with or without it. I’ve tried everything I can possibly think of but can’t figure out why my shots look so horribly fuzzy and other people with the same cameras have superb results in similar lighting. It’s gotta be something I’m doing. I honestly have no idea how to fix this, and it’s happening with more than 1 camera so there’s gotta be some kind solution.

If anyone has any suggestions that would be great. I would love my shots to come out better, I’ve been dealing with poor results for too long. Thank you.

to do this I have bought myself a HDMi auto switch box however, this is where the fun starts. The item I bought is this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HDMI-3-Input-Auto-Switch-Switcher-Hub-Splitter-Box-Port-Output-1080p-HDTV-HD-DVD-/151062134128
The problem is when I turn on the sky box I get a blue screen on the TV I then turn on the DVD I get sky! it seems to me that the DVD player is acting as the default player and not my Sky box.

I have 4 ports on the HDMi auto switch and I have tried all combinations but the DVD still remains the default player.

The DVD player in question is a Samsung BD C5500

If anyone can advise many thanks as I’m stumped!

If I were to purchase a camcorder that says ‘HD quality videos’, is it actually HD? My digital cam says 720p but the video quality does not look anywhere near that good. Will a half decent camcorder keep up well with motion and produce a good quality video? Also If I were to put the camcorder down to film me doing something such as jumping my horse, will the screen go dull? Or will leaving it unattended while filming affect the video quality in anyway? It’s just whenever I put my digital camera down while I film myself jumping my horse, the screen goes really dull and I can hardly see myself. Thanks!

So uhh..This is more for like..Future references. So I can know in advance. I’m really into light blues, sky blues, and whites.

I got a bong’ in my room that’s got a swirl of those colors and..Man, its really beautiful. Like..Those colors go really good together. Blue, cyan blue, and white. Like cloud white. I was wonderin’ if maybe I could show it to someone to give them an idea of what I want.

And how much do paint jobs usually go for? Ya know, I’d really love to do it myself but..I’m sloppy with paint. I make stick figures look like a Jackson Pollock painting.
