That could appear like an odd title for an report on Christian personal finance, but bear with me, and I consider you’ll see that it’s a valid a single. Why is it that so many Christians struggle financially when our Father is the creator of the Universe? He owns the cattle on a thousand hills, and he says in His Word that He wants to command blessings on us.

So, why are so a lot of Christians living lives that are not blessed? Yes, I know that we are blessed spiritually, but I believe that God desires to bless us materially as well. In Genesis 12:2 and 3, God promised to bless Abram. Now, ahead of you tell me God was talking about a spiritual blessing, go ahead and turn the Genesis 13.

“And Abram was really rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.”
~ Genesis 13:2

That does not sound like he was blessed only spiritually. God also blessed him financially and with material goods.

Now, I know that God is not a respecter of persons. And, I know that if I have accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior that I am Abraham’s seed and heir to the identical blessings — and much more.

Again I ask: why are so a lot of Christians struggling instead of enjoying the blessings that God has promised to command upon them?

Could it be that we haven’t provided God anything to bless?

“The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.”
~ Deuteronomy 28:8

God promised to command blessings upon our storehouses, and here is the issue that so many face: they aren’t storing something. Several folks have no savings account and live paycheck to paycheck and beg God to bless them every month. Many individuals get so discouraged they give up on God.

All along, God is waiting on His men and women to show that they are very good stewards of what He has already offered them.

Remember the parable of the talents? (Matthew 25:14-30) Numerous people believe this is talking about abilities. But, if you look up the which means of the word “talents” it is speaking about coins, or income.

The short version of the story is: the Lord gave three of his servants some income. Two of them invested it and produced a profit for him. The third was afraid and buried his, producing no profit. When the Lord returned, the two who made a profit were rewarded. The one particular who didn’t was known as wicked and slothful (or lazy), the talent was taken from him and given to the a single who had produced the most profit, and the wicked servant was cast out.

The moral of the story according to Jesus is:

“For unto every 1 that hath shall be provided, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.”
~Matthew 25:29

Are you a “have notter” or a “haver”? I propose that which one particular you are will determine regardless of whether or not you will acquire God’s blessing of economic abundance in your life. You have to have something for him to bless. You have to have been a great steward with what he has provided you.

This is why so a lot of of my articles and so considerably of my monetary guidance focuses on paying oneself very first. If you don’t have a financial savings account, start off 1. Start one today. Even if it is with the minimal amount your bank or credit union will permit.

If you consistently commit every single penny that comes into your hands, you are not offered God anything to function with. Can he carry out miracles? Yes. But, ahead of you count on these, keep in mind the parable of the talents. If God can’t trust you to be a great steward of what you have now, why would he function miracles to bless you with abundance?

Make a vow to oneself to never put an additional paycheck in the bank without having placing a portion of it into a financial savings account. You might not be capable to save much, but save something. Begin a storehouse today that God can bless.

Nerf——-I just read in Luke “Why call me The almighty and never do what I only say?”

It broke me up. Should you claim that they can love God and also have no outward expression, you’re kidding yourself. I wish to obey His rules since i love Him. Tuesday I are accountable to foods on wheels, and also to discover in the event that destitute shelter inside a town 40 miles away is real.

Behavior training may be the outward expression of the inner need to please God–Thomas Kempis.

My spouse and i have 4 children from different associations(2his,2mine). He’s been hinting that the new addition could be nice. Sometimes it may be nice however I recall how HARD it had been that i can raise babies. as well as how costly. He really thinks we ought to have another and almost will get mad after i attempt to provide him explanations why we should not(ie I’ve no health care insurance, he works 3rd change, we actually cant afford it) Has other people experienced this. Is he going to go on. Must I consider getting another? As christian believers we all do believe God will give you for all of us in everything we choose but I’m sure there must be some responsibility too to the finances at this time. We allow it to be okay now but a brand new addition would actually crunch us in money in addition to space within our home. Searching at our budget i dont think sometimes it can go that far. We’ll pray about this and pay attention to what God wears our hearts. Please pray for all of us as well as provide your suggestions about what you will do. Thanks God Bless

I’m just battling with a few conditions beyond my control so that as a outcomes of these occurrences medically and finacilly I’m not in a position to have children. I understand my spouse and i needed to do what we should needed to do in cases like this, but you will find occasions I seem like I’m being designated and punished by God. I’m married almost 13 years.

I understand as christian believers we’re to like oneanother however i know lots of single moms who’ve children from marriage and also to them it’s a game title like no large deal. They believe it is “playing house” and awesome they reach title the infant.

A number of these “moms” take presctiption welfare and SSI.

For a few years altogether my spouse and i were working 3 jobs so we will have a little extra for speical things.

I had been told this really is something you cope with but never overcome.

We cant manage to adopt and that we aren’t able to stay at home watching an infant. When we dont work we dont eat.

Keep me in prayer and thanks and God appreciate it.

Dying as everyone knows is inevitable and can arrived at us anytime within our lives. But because normal it’s to grieve regarding this when someone we like died, will it really mean eternal peace for the one that died?

One factor without a doubt, whenever we die we’re free of the issues we faced within our lives. Finances, jobs, family, sex life etc. But when Paradise and hell do is available exactly how should we maintain peace when we were send to hell?

Inside my local pentecostal chapel lately the senior pastor arrives on chapel stage in the motorbike as well as in other services the pastors have demonstrated pictures of these vacationing in Fiji and performing missionary projects.

They are good examples to title a couple of and without doubt it takes place at other places of worship with very divided opinions as whether this really is right and also to be congratulated/recognized or frowned upon.

Is Flaunting right considering that you weekly tithes are financing such grand luxuries at thought of as inspiration or otherwise???

Now I’ve been watching and spent too much time learning things in regards to Christianity. I have to admit that i am just abit confused. For a few times now i’ve been watching a certain Chritian broadcasting that i won’t mention its name but the supposed host claims to be an apostle who happens to pray for callers and sends then a handerchief as a point of contact for blessing. He claims to be appointed by God an is there to annoint the callers and thus bless them in every aspect of life including healing and in the area of finance.

Now according to my understanding, i only know of the early apostles and i didn’t know they still exist. The other thing is that i’ve also been learning about tithing and according to my understanding is that this is the ten percent of everything you own that God has given you, you return to Him.

In this broacasting, the host claims that with a joint praying in agreement with the caller, and in Jesus name, he can bless you through tithing to be
blessed financially. In another words; if you invest $300 in his ministry, in faith, your tithing will bless you financially with $ 3000 in return. According to my understanding, i thought you give ten percent back out of the 100 that you already recieved and not backards. I tried to figure out if this is a fraud or another scheme that thw host is trying to pulloff by posing as a minister but according to some of the verses I’ve been reading such as ((amplified)you’ll know them by their fruits) this host doesn’t appear to be a scammer and does use Christ’s name in prayers and services plus he also refers to the Bible and uses passes from there. So i am confused if this infact is lagit basically b/c he does seems to contradict afew things that i learnt to be quite the reverse of what he teaches. I am to enrich my understanding so please pass along your information and any other Biblical verses for me to refer to. Thanks in advance for your help and God bless
    *thw = the
*am to enrich = am looking to enrich
I am not planning on using him for a financial gain let alone contacting him. I was just more curious of his actions and the fact that we never see any charitable things he does to others like poor people from poverty stricken nations or proclaiming to good news to others. I do believe in prophets to exist because i read about it in the book of Revelation that God will raise his prophets in the end time but never heard of apostles in the end of the age so just curious. I like all the answers so far and quite agree with saintrose
Great answers so far, i am very impressed. Now i just need as much more answers as i possibly can get. God bless you all
Great answers so far, i am very impressed. Now i just need as much more answers as i possibly can get -just want to enrich my understanding some more. God bless you all

Has it ever accrued to you that no matter what state your hotel room is in or no matter how much you paid for the room. There always seems to be that one bible in the drawer next to the phone book. I mean, yes at some point you could need one. But really who started this and whats the real reason?
The Last time I in a hotel was about 3 months ago for my birthday, it was in Miami and it was the Hilton.

    .

This is a BIG theological question that my friends and I have been batting around.

Nowadays, you have Televangelists like Creflo Dollar, and others saying that God wants Christians to be financially prosperous, which DOES make a degree of sense. Obviously, the more prosperous Christians as a people are, the more influence we would theoretically have towards helping people, and bringing people to God.

But there are STRONG EXAMPLES in the Word that point in the opposite direction. Jesus himself said, “And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” (Matthew 19:24 KJV)

When Jesus was talking to the young ruler he said, ” Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.” (Mark 10:21 KJV)

Or, What about when Jesus said, “But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.” (Luke 6:24 KJV)

However, on the same token… we know that in the Word, there were of men of God, who God blessed with material wealth. Like, Abraham, King Solomon, Job, Joseph, and others.

Additionally, there are many who say Jesus was so wealthy… that he had to have a treasurer. That when Jesus was born, the wise men who came to see him brought him several lifetime’s worth in money in the way of Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh. Others, say that… THAT simply isn’t true. Making the point that if indeed Jesus was SO WEALTHY why did he work as a carpenter?!?!?

In a commonsensical kind of way one might say, “Why wouldn’t God, like any father… want his children to prosper.” But, in another you might answer that saying, “Because our reward isn’t on Earth, its in Heaven.”

Many people think that what minister’s like Creflo Dollar are doing is incredible work helping Christians get their finances in order, and getting them to prosper. Others think what Creflo Dollar is doing is primarily about making himself rich, and that he is distorting God’s message in a dangerous way.

I see BOTH sides on the coin, but I’m not sure which is right. I think its a bit of a conundrum. What are your thoughts, comments, and opinions???

Do you teach your family what’s important to ask Jesus Christ for? The sick, poor, weak, helpless, diseased and World ☮. I often hear us asking Jesus Christ for the wrong things such as personal gain in finances to even sporting event outcomes. Please be a good Christian and pray for what Jesus would deem important not you.

    Acts 20:35

In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.

    Thank you God Bless.
Pish and Fiddle- I agree it is important to actually donate time and the resources you can in helping others. You are entitled to your opinion my Jewish friend. One of my closest friends is of your beautiful faith and I believe it is important to not judge others or their faith. God Bless.

God is really laying it on my heart to tithe (did I spell that right?) Anyhow, I am a little low on fundage for bills, which is a concern to most people at times. Its hard to know what to do. How much to give. I know its 10%, but I feel like I should give a little more. Please give me guidance.

If you think they do, how do they demonstrate it?

  24. Kit September 18, 2013 at 6:19 am #

If I gave my money to charity or a family member (retirement fund) instead of giving to the church, would that be giving the middle finger to God (figuritively speaking)?

Is it manditory to tithe 10% to the church or to the poor?
I am Caholic, so does this rule apply? Would God punish me if I don’t give money to him? or not bless me?
