I am a business major but, I am not sure what exactly I want to major in yet. I thought about finance as a minor but, math is not my strongest subject. Does anyone know of a website or information that I could get from somewhere so, that I can figure out what business major I should select?

Hi, I got a first interview call from a bank for a position in “Corporate Finance” division. My second preference is “Equity Capital Markets”.

My cousin advised me not to go to Corporate Finance though, because he said basically they will just selling insurance, loans, etc. Is it true?

I have no background in Finance though, my background is Engineering, and I just try to send my application to several banks by chance.

How is the prospects for Corporate Finance or Equity Capital Markets? And what are basically people doing in those divisions?

    Thanks ^^

I’ve heard that consultancy companies prefer hiring experienced professionals rather than fresh graduates. The only exceptions are some of the brightest graduates. I dont really have a breath-taking GPA score and am willing to be a consultant more than anything. What are my chances??
Do you know of any other jobs which I can consider as a path that will lead me to being a financial consultant (corporate finance) in the future??

They seem to have an excellent reputation in regards to international business, but I would like to get opinions about the school and the program beyond what is listed in rankings, etc. I plan on working in corporate finance for an investment bank, internationally and want to know if this school will give me the opportunities to do so. Any knowledge that can be passed on about the school, such as admissions, career, etc. beyond what is on their website, U.S. News, etc. would be great.

I have just recently graduated with a BSc in Computer Science & Management. I have one year professional experience as a Solutions Engineer for Hewlett-Packard.

The thing is, I decided that I am no longer interested in IT and my real passion is in the Investment Banking field of work. Hence would like to work in investment banking / edge fund as an analyst or associate (e.g. Corporate Finance, Equity).

However, it seems impossible. All the job openings at Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Accenture, Deloitte etc are for graduates / professionals with relevant degrees and experience (e.g. Finance / Economics / Business Management).

How can I still change my career path, considering I am only 22? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!
It is important to note, all the above mentioned companies have entry-level/graduate jobs.
