Nobody is saying you need to visit nationalized medicine just, let us stop capitalizing on sick people. Can you steal an individual’s wallet when you were providing them with the Heimlich?

Wouldso would it drive lower the standard of care?

You’d really watch someone die should you understood how you can save them before you found an agreement around the bill?

Good question. I’ve got a good answer. What about attempting to cure people and enable them to? I’d favour a physician who had been thinking about helping me than a single who had been thinking about charging me probably the most.

Just compliment. Personal attacks aside, all of the to make money money would go to hospital CEOs to not doctors. Poor people citizens still make 33k each year to begin. Maybe people get into medicine to assist others and never to steal their properties.

I believe you’ve fixed America’s health issues. I completely accept all you authored.

Sorry, that needs to be Bigsky_52

Just trying to get an idea of how much everyone pays…all my friends seem to pay less than me. I am 26, female. One speeding ticket and one DUI (in the state where I’m licensed)…both from 7 years ago. No accidents.

I live in an urban area, a midwestern city with probably 200,000 people. I have a 2007 suzuki reno, base package, I have not made any insurance claims. The cheapest I’ve found is progressive at $110/month…I can’t use places like The General or Safe Auto because my state doesn’t allow it. When I get quotes from big companies, like state farm, the monthly cost is about $200…my coverage is probably fairly standard, if not on the low side, but meets state guidelines.

I was recently charged with a DUI to the slightest degree in Arizona. I have hired an experienced attorney to defend my case. I have never had any kind of record in the past civil or criminal traffic. I am a responsible citizen and I go to school in Illinois.

My BAC blood test came out to be 0.09 just slightly above 0.08 legal limit.

What are my chances of getting my charges reduced to reckless driving or dismissed or reduced to anything other than DUI?

I want to be a police officer but am about to be charged with a DUI. It’s been a dream of mine for a long time and I’ve been putting off school for this for 2 years because I’ve been fighting it, but I lost. ( I was not the driver but was in the car while it was running 🙁 ) anyways, should I give up? Or is it possible for me to still be a cop?

A friend of mine was seriously injured and her boyfriend was killed by a drunk driver a couple years ago. The drunk driver had 2 previos dui’s and he walked off with 5 years probation and 10 year loss of license. It would have been nice if he was sentenced to prison time. How come he wasn’t?
FYI the sentencing was just today and this happened 1 1/2 years ago.

I live in Hawaii, and a close friend was convicted for DUI. I read online that some states have a program where after a certain period of good behavior a person’s record can be cleared, and I would like to pass this information on if possible.

  24. Stewart March 25, 2013 at 8:54 am #

Do DUI diversion programs exist in Northern California? What exactly is this, and in what circumstances would someone want to participate in this kind of program? One article explained that attending a diversion program would enable someone to avoid a conviction by giving up the right to a speedy trial. Do people do this, and why? I have never heard of this before, so it seems to me that there must be a catch. Does this help the criminal or dmv case? Does the accused still have to pay fines, do community service, and attend other education classes as well?

I have not yet gone to trial but assuming I receive a Continuance With Out a Finding how does that determine my career? My police report shows I was very respectful and cooperative, passed all field sobriety tests but failed the breathalyzer with a .11 and .12. I got a DUI in August of last year. My six month suspension is over with now and I scheduled my assessments for tomorrow. During my assessments they have you talk to a councilor and they evaluate you to take 10 hour classes that take three days, or 24 hour classes that take six weeks to complete. How do they evaluate you on this? Because I really don’t want to take the 24 hour classes which last six weeks, and are also two hundred and ten bucks more than the 10 hour classes. If anyone has any information on this, let me know. Thanks.

  45. Micheal March 31, 2013 at 1:47 am #

Would this be considered a 2nd offense? Or 1st offense since the 1st DUI didn’t occur in California?
Thanks for your answers. Just to clarify, I’m not asking for myself – I’m asking for my sister who has received 1 dui in another state and is now living in CA. She has not received one in CA, but I’m planning on talking to her about her drinking problem and wanted to bring up what the consequences would be if she did receive another while in CA.

(I entered a deal several months back, it was a VERY POOR decision. And I will reap what I sewed). I know it will be a lot more of an impact in this bad economy but as a whole do they completely destory job opportunities or is it more dependent on the job? I also heard after 5 or 10 years that a DUI becomes not even noteworthy if you’ve stayed out of trouble?

  48. Dawne March 31, 2013 at 3:36 pm #

I keep getting moralizing responses, or ones that do not address the issue at all, and many tries to get the answered have been deleted.

    This is a societal question.

If you have committed no moving violation, do you feel society has probable cause to search your breath and body fluids for drugs and alcohol?

It is common for DUI’s to be issued on the strength of mechanical violations, like tail lights, and I think this is an unreasonable intrusion.

How loose are we going to allow probablt cause to get? What affect on our lives will it have?

Also, how many of those who get a 2nd DUI then end up getting a 3rd? I teach a DUI class (I am newly hired) and a fellow coworker had been spouting out about 76% of all 1st offenders become 2nd offenders and then out of those 2nd offenders, the percentage that become 3rd offenders is more than 85%. I have been looking for this information on the net for days now and can’t find it. I don’t want to offend my coworker by questioning his numbers,(and a veiled attempt by asking what site he found it at won’t work) but I also don’t want to repeat this number to my students when it might not be right. I live in California.

I am mainly interested in the DUI/DWI definition in relevance to alcohol.
I know DUI is Driving Under the Influence
DWI is “Driving While Intoxicated, but what is the difference between the two?
What exactly do they mean whenever they say “under the influence?”
Does it mean driving with alcohol in the car (or open), or does it mean having a drunk person in the car with you? Maybe a difference in the alcohol content?

By the way, I live in Missouri, so please include any differences with DUI and DWI in my state, thanks!

I know someone who got a DUI and they didn’t have to give their social security number. They went to court, plead guilty and were convicted of a DUI misdemeanor and paid a fine. I thought if you were arrested that was information you had to provide. But this is not so?
The person had a valid drivers license and cooperated fully with authorities.

Does someone know how much roughly insurance will probably cost after a DUI? Perhaps someone who has had one in the past could tell me.
I know my license will be suspended for awhile but i can get a hardship license after DUI school. I’m pretty sure you still have to have insurance when you have a hardship license.
Not everyone can be perfect like you “KIZZLE”. Some people actually make mistakes! Imagine that.

Do they carryy the same amount of time in Arkansas. What is the difference? I mean does one carry a stiffer punishment and higher fines. I was wondering for my best friend got a DUI. But the courts have it mixed up as a DWI on the paperwork and should he leave it the way they got it or have them to change it to the DUI like it is. Does it make a difference. Thanks for your answers and God Bless.
