I’m in personal finance! I want everyone’s help. I want good examples and tales of people that have experienced serious problems due to poor management of your capital. Briefly explain the things they did wrong.

EX. A friend marry and should not have become married because of their finances. For his or her wedding they lent a lot of money and 18 several weeks after marriage filed personal bankruptcy and also got the divorce.

All and then any good examples are greatly needed! I want as numerous tales when i could possibly get.

Many thanks in order to me out! I be thankful greatly.

What’s the best software readily available for personal finance? Both Microsoft Money and Quicken’s product were suggested in my experience — but both appeared to get poor reviews at Amazon .

Your quality of life and your (happiness)satisfaction levels depends on how efficiently you plan, organise and manage your work, professional relations, personal relationships, time and finances etc.

I mean, management skills are not only important for persons who are working as a ‘Manager’ in some organisation, but each and every one of us need to learn and improve our management skills continuously.
Please share your views and experience about this. And please suggest some ways how can we lead a more fulfilling life?

I have a girlfriend who is great and we have been together for 4 years. She is fantastic in every way except for managing her finances. She currently earns more than me but she is always overdrawn and I have had to bail her out on more than one occassion.

She was brought up in a house where her father spent money loosley and she was never taught to appreciate the values of personal finance management. I have tried to broach the subject several times but it always ends in a arguement and she becomes really defensive. She doesnt open her bank statements and sometimes she even hides them! She can never estimate her current bank account within £300 + or – !

What can i do to make sure she sorts this issue out without having any more arguments? I don’t want to live like a pauper and grow old with her in a dingy bedsit! lol.

I am 28 years old, single and made $41,000 last year. I am struggling financially due to my own ignorance and need to get a hold of the reigns.

Dave Ramsey and Suze Orman have some pretty mixed reviews on how overly simplistic and what a waste of money thier work is and Givens sounds too risky. Where should I start? What do you recommend?

I have seen courses for business accounting but does anyone know of a course for personal finance? I am in London, UK.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, with a major in Banks and Finances. I currently work for a credit union but I am really interested in personal finances, credit issues, stuff like that. What are some jobs related to these things?
I’m not that interested in banking, I don’t want to just give loans, I want to be able to teach people how to handle their money, how to plan for their retirement etc. More like a financial advisor maybe?

    How do I get there?

I have a mate who knows he’s a bit crap at looking after his paperwork, late work expenses, ATM slips in a big pile, unclaimed receipts, you know the sort of thing. The issue is not one of cash, it’s a subtle and painless behavioural shift required. If I try to help, I’m sure he will “glaze over” – So, does anyone know a free basic/practical advice website that’s light and simple enough to follow (maybe even with a bit of humour), with useful and practical tips on managing personal finances, so he might get the enthusiasm to sort out the bills and paperwork?

I love personal finance and money management. I want to write a book about the subject. I already understand the business side of self-publishing and how to sell books. I wanted to know if my topic is a good topic to write about?

Or list other good/in demand topics.

My husband quit his job 3 years ago (left on good terms) and followed me to a new job in a new state. Instead of looking for work, he was a day trader and managed our investments for the last 3 years. He is looking to go back to work now – what is the best way to explain that 3yr gap in his resume? He is an electrical engineer, so personal finance and investing experience is not really relevant to the types of jobs in which he is interested.

I’m presuing a finance major and should be done with in the next 1 1/2 to 2 years. What are some jobs a finance major could be looking at? And how is the starting salaries for most finance majors?

Most mentors or financial advisers sell you products of their organizations and not look at my financial position and advise how I can grow in financial intelligence.

I am thinking of taking a job where I will have money after many years of not having any. I grew up without much & I want to make the most of this opportunity. I know what my monthy bills are but I want to plan ahead to have a good financial life.

I want to have certain things to save for after paying the bills. What would those kinds of catagories be? I am saving for new vehicles but at some point I will probably take loans. I want to save for entertainment & gifts & travel. Please tell me what you have learned about personal money management & planning. Thank you.

is it possible. I deal with complicated spreadsheet and calculation everyday.

I mean actually get a job as an accountant, not just do accounting for personal finance management.

I teach “Life Skills and Personal Finance” to high school seniors. I want to come up with a good list of “skills” that I can teach these young men and women before they are off on their own. Some of what we already cover includes:
    ● Banking
    ● Resume & Cover Letters
    ● Basic Budgets
    ● Spreadsheets (Excel)
    ● The Expenses of a Child

What other things can I include? Thanks!

They offer, financial planning, H.R. , deadline and project management, Entrepreneurship-Marketing for Growth, Negotiations, Small Business Planning & Management, H.R. Performance Reviews, Principles of Leadership/Management and much more.

All these are classes that just go along with regular business and accounting classes some are only 2 credit side classes.

I need one more to go with basic business law and accounting 1.

I’ve been using Microsoft Money since 2002, so I have over 7 years of financial data. However, now the Microsoft is leaving the personal finance mgmt business, what is the best alternative? An important requirement is that I save these 7 years of information. I would like web based, but I must be able to import my current information. I have stock information, retirement info, various bank accounts and credit cards.

What is the best personal finance management software today?

I’m doing my capstone project in management, and we are working with a local bank to develop a strategic plan for them. One thing they are wondering is what the younger generation would like to see as far as products or services that the bank provides. Do you guys have any ideas related to technology, online/text message banking, personal finance classes, customizable debit cards, etc? What options would you like to see at your bank? Or those of you that bank at larger banks or internationally–what new innovative things do your banks have that we could look into starting at this small bank?

I want a career working with the stock market and personal finances. Moving to Wall Street is not an option, I live in Michigan. Where can I find programs that will give me the qualifications needed to get a stock market/finance career. Most colleges offer accounting degrees but I am having a hard time finding personal finance/stock market degrees.

I am a senior majoring in Health Services Administration with a minor in Management. I am planning on working at a hospital as a Health Services Manager. I received a 200 dollar off letter in the mail for a school I attended in the past. I can get 200 dollars off any career diploma program. The cost for the programs I am considering are between $500 and $600. The first one I am looking at is Personal Financial Planning because I feel learning about that will help me be able to make smarter money choices in the future and I could help people as a side job with personal financing. I am also looking at Nutrition, Diet, and Health Science because I am a health nut and love trying to eat healthy. I can also use this to help people lose weight and get healthy. Which one do you recommend?
