I am currently just finishing my A2 maths.
I am starting an open university degree in October, and i was wondering, whilst i am studying my degree would any employer employ me? (As in, a statistics office, or a finance firm)
I do currently have a job, but its not what i want to be doing (not to sound ungrateful)

Any advice would be great thanks (:

I’m working a project for school that deals with securities firms and the issues/risks that they face. Some that I found are market risk, interest rate risk, liquidity risk, and competition with commercial banks. I need a little help explaining them and how they affect the securities firms. Aside from discount brokerage services I haven’t really found anything different from how commercial banks compete with the firms. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. A link to a website would be good too. Thanks.

I have a few offers on the table (for job opportunities) from finance/accounting recruiting firms but I do not know if I can trust them. There will always be 33% of myself that will remain skeptical but I am wondering if it I can rest the other 66% in trust.

They strike me as individuals you can’t trust because they rush you to make decisions. I would compare them to “used car salesmen” because it seems like they are rushing you to make “yes or no” decisions as if they are trying to hide the flaws in what they are selling.

I’m looking to change careers. I have an engineering degree and have worked for a major computer company for 17 years. I would like to pursue my personal interest in the finance/investment industry. Taking the Series7 broker exam is the first step I want to take. It’s not clear to me that the test can be taken without sponsorship by a financial firm. How can I get this sponsorship without working for a finance/investment firm? Any help would be appreciated.

A firm is evaluating an investment that costs $90,000 and is expected to generate annual cash flows equal to $20,000 for the next 6 years. If the firm’s required rate of return is 10%, what is the net present value (NPV) of the project? What is its internal rate of return (IRR)? Should the project be purchased?

The support activities of a value chain include
    firm infrastructure
    human resource
    technology development
but finance is missing. Don’t you think that without finance, firms can’t make and deliver products?

I will be graduating in December and would like to work in consulting (finance). What companies should I apply to (which hire new graduates)? What is the most important thing to convey during an interview? What should I expect during my first year of work? What sort of pay should I expect? Is there anything I should know. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.
