I went on Geico, and I put in basically everything honest. I had one accident where I rear ended someone on May 2012. No one was hurt, and the car I hit basically had no damage. My insurance paid about $3000

Anyway, since then I’ve NEVER had a speeding ticket, nor any type of tickets aside from parking tickets from an automobile. I also have been driving for a year, and have my basic license

I checked the insurance and it would cost me 65.00 a month. A downpayment of 97.87 and about a grand total of 600 for 12 months

That’s REALLY cheap actually! Is this true or is Geico just trying to rob me? I’m looking for a cheap motorcycle bike. The Ninja 250CC. Yes, I will be going for the safety foundation for the whole motorcycle stuff. Thanks

i bought a new truck, i am a first time car buyer and got the independent insurance agent the dealer had…. the agent told me that he was informed by the insurance agent that i will have a one (1) year coverage for the auto insurance as well as the amount of my monthly premium.. when i got the policy i was shocked to find out i only got six months coverage for the insurance and my monthly premium increased… they got PROGRESSIVE as the insurance company. i have already paid the required “first six months” (according to the agent) insurance premium and have to pay monthly for the remaining 6 months… which is not the case when i got my policy…

is there a way how to handle, change this car insurance that i got? if not how could i send any complain to certain authorities/agencies for this kind of activities?

    any help is appreciated

My wife and I are traveling to New Zealand this September and renting a car for 2-weeks. We found out that our USA car insurance does not cover automobiles in New Zealand. I also checked American Express (my credit card) and they too do not offer any type of coverage in New Zealand. We are renting our car from Hertz but the insurance through them is super expensive.

Does anybody have a suggestion on temporary car insurance in New Zealand? Also, feel free to offer any other advice about renting cars and driving in New Zealand.

    Thanks a lot!

I’m 25 and have just been in my first automobile accident in which I was at fault. I hit the side of another vehicle. My car is only damaged slightly on the front bumper, while the other car’s passenger side is quite dented. No one was hurt in the accident and I didn’t receive a ticket. Both of us were able to drive away from the scene. I do have automobile insurance which should cover any damages to the other car, but I am concerned that this will cause my insurance payment to increase. Thoughts?
I just bought my (used) car in September. I was out of the country for 2 years, so I wasn’t driving at that time. I’ve had this insurance since September and the price has been very reasonable thus far.
My insurance covers the other person and I have a $500 deductible on the damage to my car.I don’t expect the damage to my car to cost $500 since it’s very minimal. The other car got the worst of it!

So I started asking my Mommy group buddies. And I was shocked at the variety of answers. So far I’ve asked about 7 people. I thought I’d post this to Yahoo Answers. How much is your premium per month? How many people does that cover? Size of deductable & annual average out of pocket costs? Is it private or through your job? And last but not least…are you satisfied with your health insurance company? Please answer honestly. Personally, we switched to a private company and choose a high deductable HSA plan. We pay less annual out of pocket costs, go to the doctor more, and have the lowest premiums for our large family. So far so good. But I’d love other folks basic stats please. Thank you.

It’s funny how you make quick decisions about purchases now that we are in a recession. Last night I found myself foregoing a number of items in the supermarket, things I used to buy without much thought to price or affordibilty. No sixpack of Cream Soda. No ice cream. Cheaper rolls of paper towels. I saved money and I think it’s a pattern I will follow through America’s recession. What are some things you are sacraficing?

Although it will boring I also invite wealthy folks to answer with all the reasons why they are not cutting back on anything – in fact may be spending more, and their answers that we are not in a recession. Those will be fun too! All join in an answer!

I may need a $10 million of proffesional liabilty insurance. I’m a salesman and I got a dui/dwi. The company I work for is afraid since the automobile and buisness liability insurance is tied together that if they won’t insure me for driving the company vehicals, they won’t insure me for the $10 million of proffesional liabilty insurance needed to get into steel mills.

I sell air-conditioning to steel mills in the midwest, usa. I do not work on or repair the air-conditiong. I measure the space and design systems, but I need to get into the mills to do my job.

I may not need that much to do my job. The people I work for are torn between letting the insurance company find out on there own, the policy needs renewed befor 4-1-08. Or calling them and seeing what the options are ?

So if anyone has any input let me know. Thanks

I recently bought a 1984 Mercedes 500SEL and my insurace company says they will only cover my car for 30 more days until I find a company that will cover a grey market car. The guy I bought it from had it insured so I know its possible, but could you give me some ideas of cheap companies to start off at? I’m a newly licensed driver and am only 16, so please only give me companies that sell policies to 16 year olds (some only sell to 18 and above). Thanks.

I am trying to narrow down my options for Automobile insurance and find the best for my money… I am a high risk so State farm wouldn’t accept me after I carelessly let my insurance policy cancel.

I have been quoted 189.00 a month from Al Boenker Insurance and I am really not wanting to have to pay that much…. But any suggestions would definitely help!

    Thank you!

I had another driver driving my vehicle when she was involved in an accident. The other driver was going to accept the payout from the insurance company but decided at the last minute to ask for more than the maximum payout from the insurance company. Now I am being sued and after an asset search it was found that I own my home. Can I file this against my homeowners policy? Can I sell or transfer my property to another party in order to “save” my home? Can I have the driver release me from any liabilty of this accident? What is my best course of action to take in order to protect my only asset which is my home?

I am planning to sell my car and cancel my auto insurance. If I want to rent a car, am I required to buy their rental car insurance, since I wouldn’t have any other auto insurance otherwise?

  23. Rima August 6, 2013 at 2:04 pm #

Can you resume your auto insurance policy one it was canceled? ok it was canceled 5 months ago I wasn’t using the car so I didn’t need insurance at a moment. Now I am planning on using the car again. Can I just call them and ask them to send me a monthly fee and get insurance resumed or do I need to go to insurance place and talk to Insurance sales agent and pay $200 finders fee again? I don’t want to pay those fees again. Is there a way to resume my insurance without those extra fees. I am a California resident.

if you don’t want to purchase auto insurance you simply don’t buy a car?

  25. Denise August 8, 2013 at 9:55 am #

After moving into inner Atlanta because I’ve grown tired of a completely car dependent lifestyle, my auto insurance went from 70 dollars a month to nearly 160 based solely on my location.

Not only is this unfair and stupid, it seems to me to defy logic. I would think the suburban commuter who is spending lots of time in his car every day is more prone to claims than me, who barely has a reason to use my car anymore.

    Ridiculous.

Alot of people are upset because it forces one to have insurance or be fined. The same thing applies to auto insurance. So whats the difference?

A few years ago I got into a small “fender bender” where I believe I was deemed at fault. At the time I was a named driver on my dad’s policy but now I have just bought my own car and am looking to take out my own policy and obviously want the cheapest possible… When getting quotes they ask if I have made a claim in the last 5 years. If the policy wasn’t in my name does it still count? Can a new, totally unrelated company even see that information, so do I have to put it down at all? Thanks!

I need a new auto insurance company, Allstate just raised my rates through the roof. But I don’t want it to be an unreliable company that will drop me for one little crack in my winshield. State Farm and all those companies are too expensive for me (I am a teenager and work part-time). I live in CA. Any suggestions?

I want to change my auto insurance comp, i have claimed an accident with it for which i did not get a ticket. So will it matter if I don’t report it to the new company while asking for quotations? Do insurance companies talk to each other or share data?

I am renewing my auto insurance. I have a car with all kinds of great features like leather seats, upgraded stereo, sunroof, etc. Is there some way to insure it so if it gets totaled, I can buy a car of equal quality? Should I even get full coverage?
    Thanks.

    Hi!

I am with auto-insurance company X right now and due to few number of insurance claims that I had made, my insurance is going up. I am wondering if I try to switch to some company Y, will X share my claims information with Y?

    Thanks!

I’m looking at buying or leasing a new car and am wondering how that’ll affect my auto insurance premium. Also, which features in a new car affect the premium. I’ve heard about red paint and sports cars causing higher premiums, but are there any other factors?
