Also, what should I do with Florida inspection?

I need to find this out quickly for an 81 year man who needs to update his bus transit card in Miami Florida, but first needs the Florida ID with his current address.

In order for him to get the Florida ID (not even a driver’s license!), he needs to update his Resident Alien card. I have a feeling it costs around $1,000, but I just want to know for sure.

I am moving to Florida soon and will be changing my cell phone number. My question is if there is an area code that is considered more “posh” than other area codes down there – based on location, demographics, etc. This is similar to how the 310 area code in California is considered to be more “posh” than others. What is the Florida equivalent, if there is one?

Just wondering if anyone has heard any news about marijuana being decriminalized in Florida. I have been to a few campuses here in Florida where there were petitions and Im sure this has been going on for a while but I just would like any news or an educated opinion on whether or not Florida’s marijuana laws will change any time soon. There are many medicinal uses and it would be a great source of income for the state and would also create thousands of jobs.

Is there opportunity there and where abouts in Florida?

LSU and SC being in front of Florida State in the BCS standings is a bad joke. FL ST is still a top 3 team
By one point, and that game was the definition of a fluke win.

How long until people realize teams dont play the same every game.If they did, picking winners would be super easy and gambling would stop.

When business writes laws they normally write laws for the benefit of business. global corporations and state politicians are voting behind closed doors to try to rewrite state laws.to limit workers rights and drain labor unions of resources for protecting employees, undermine consumer protections, favor the Wall Street financial agenda, limit the ability to cap exorbitant interest rates on credit cards and big bank fees. The bills and resolutions they purpose also attempt to funnel tax dollars to for-profit corporations through privatization. to limit the rights and remedies of Americans injured or killed by corporations. These so-called “model bills” erode the rights of an injured person, or that person’s family, who files a complaint alleging that a corporation caused injury or death and should be held responsible for all the damages its actions caused. ALEC bills would privatize public education, crush teacher’s unions, Among other things, these bills make education a private commodity rather than a public good, also work to undermine environmental protections, limit the ability of local government to manage land use, and protect corporate polluters. bills pushed by ALEC corporations result in taxpayers subsidizing the profits of the private prison industry by putting more people in for-profit prisons and keeping them in jail for longer. Run like a hotel the more beds filled the more money made. ALEC corporations and their legislative partners would privatize Medicare, deregulate health insurers, protect negligent doctors, and cut holes in the safety net. These anti-patient “model bills” advance the interests of global drug companies and the health insurance industry, while eroding the rights and health of Americans.

Someone recently told me that if the windows in your car are down or just open, your car is no longer the safest place to be. If it’s all related to the rubber tires then why would it matter if the windows are down? Anyone have any ideas?
I was under the assumption that the tires ground the car. The lightning is attracted to the metal car but the tires keep you from the shock.

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
    America 101:

This is how it reads to me, from the right to bear arms the a well regulated militia is derived. To infringe upon that right, would be to infringe upon the existence of a well regulated militia.

My question is how can you guarantee a well regulated militia, if that which is derived from isn’t first regulated to begin with?

Referring to the “right of the people to keep and bear arms,” give me the right to own, carry or use a firearm? Or does it refer to all of them? Take into account what “keep and bear” means.
I don’t plan on going shooting at random. I mean does it give me a right to use a firearm in self-defense, or just carry it around with me, or just to keep it in my home.

I love cats and really want to have one in my apartment, but I live on the 11th floor and am worried that the cat will fall off the balcony. Of course I’d try to keep the balcony door closed, but if it ever did run out there, would a cat jump off accidentally, or would it sense its height?
Does anybody have experience wtih cats in an apartment with a balcony? I have only had cats in a private house before.

We received a call for domestic disturbance and we couldn’t get into her house.
So the officer started telling her they need to see that she’s okay. But she won’t let them in, so one of them said to open the door or they’ll kick it down.
I’m wondering why they can’t leave until they know she’s okay. To us ambulance attendants not opening the door is a signal that she doesn’t want treatment.
But the officers obviously think they can’t leave until they know she’s ok.
I was wondering why can’t they leave if she’s the one refusing to open the door and show them she’s okay.
The abuser wasn’t even on the scene. When they finally got her to open the door, he was nowhere in existence.
They left right away after hearing he wasn’t on the scene. They have his name, so they left.

Not all businesses are the greatest, so you go to one that works for you. The same is true for hospitals and other medical buildings.
This happens because we are capitalist country; meaning that better businesses or hospitals get more money or get more money because of location ( only business or hospital in the area or just better located).
Now if we were to rate all hospitals in the US ( like when we compare our education to that of other countries) then we wouldn’t rate very high would we. Why? Because not all hospitals are equal, nor the schools or businesses and that is capitalism. Those that can’t make the cut go out of business; it’s simple and I like it.

Gay marriage was already banned in North Carolina prior to this, but a majority of North Carolina voters have recently voted in favor of Amendment 1, which prohibits same-sex marriage. A bit of insult to injury, no? Mind you, it’s legal for them to marry their first cousin (psst, Leviticus 18:6).
Somehow this needs clarification: The question has nothing to do with the voting process. Straight forward (see what I did there? ba-dum-chh) question.

Florida was 1-2 against the Wildcats this year, including a spanking in the SEC Championship game. Florida was way overrated, and it showed in the tourney. They had the easiest road to the Final Four out of all the teams, and they couldnt make it. But dont get me wrong, Butler is a great team.
    1. Kentucky won the SEC Championship.
    2. If you say UCLA, BYU, Butler is tougher than other teams like UCONN and Kentucky you are high.

Florida was way overrated and Kentucky was underrated.

What Florida Universities or Colleges have course work similar to that of Stanford?? And what does it mean when as a transfer requirement it says:

It does not duplicate, overlap or regress previous coursework.

And how do I know that an institution is an accredited institution?? In California or Florida??
Also this directly from the Stanford website what is:

Transfer coursework must be completed at an accredited degree-granting institution.

My question is: degree-granting, that just means one where you can obtain a Bachelor’s, Master’s or even a Doctorate, right??

I homeschool thru online schools. I have been with one school for 5 years until this year. I changed schools in November. At this new school I didn’t know that I would have to make up the 1st semester in only 5 weeks, and then get zeros for what they didn’t complete. During semester 2, they held them back from starting until Feb. 1st. That put them 1 more month behind. Now they are going to fail my 8th grader for not submitting work in a timely manner, and not having enough complete work. My whole house is in turmoil, and there is nothing we can do about it. It’s too late to put them in another school this late in the school year. I can’t take them out because the will not be accredited. I need a lawyer to prepare to sue the school if they retain her for something that is not her fault. She has always made honor roll and scored great on state testing. Which type of lawyer can help me with this?
Jane, are you guessing I cant, is this a fact?
Okay, you are not understanding. She had 5 weeks to complete what others had 4 months to complete. If she were enrolled in a public school , she wouldn’t have to make up what the school had done since the beginning of the year. Why are you missing the point. A semester is 4.5 months and they are making us do this in 5 weeks.

So if anyone can assist me asap that would be great.

I think Florida is much more important… it has a diverse population and is a swing state. Florida should be more relevant than South Carolina in the future elections.

    what do you think?

I filed unemployment and the state of Florida denied it. It went to a hearing and the referee denied my claim as well due to my actions not being in the best interest of the company. I heard that there is only a certain amount of time that the state can deny my claims before I am legally entitled to the weekly payout. Does anyone know if that is true and, if so, what is the time-frame? Thanks!

I live in the retirement state, Florida. I am on Disability, SSI, and Widows Pension. I know this is nobodys business, but mine. But this is also warning other people, before they decide to move here in SW Florida. All I get is a total of $583.00 a month and $10.00 in Food Stamps. My rent alone is $301.00 (housing). And since I live in Fl. A/C is a must, and my electric bills are between 100.00-150.00 a month. Not to mention my other bills. I just can’t seem to make ends meet. I need to get out of this state fast.. Please help with some answers.

An employer gives out private information to an employee’s ex-husband. The private information included the employee’s address, phone number, and social security number. This employee has been divorced for over 10 years and has kept an unlisted phone number and address because she does not want contact with her ex-husband. Since gathering this information, the ex-husband has shown up unexpectedly at the employee’s home numerous times and continued to make harassing phone calls until the employee changed her phone number. Vandalism including graffiti and property damage to the employee’s home has also been linked back to the ex-husband. Due to the stress and anxiety involved in the situation, the employee has been unable to sleep. Her ability to focus has greatly diminished and the employee has lost a lot of weight because she is worried about further retaliation by her ex-husband. Based on these symptoms, the employee went to see a doctor and was diagnosed with an Anxiety Disorder and an ulcer. The employee is extremely upset that the employer provided information that she deemed confidential and is suing her employer.

Analyze this scenario in terms of negligence and liability. Include the following:

    1.What was the employer’s duty?
2.Was there a breach of that duty?
    3.What damages or injuries occurred?
4.Is there a proximate cause between the breach of duty and the damages or injuries?
5.Is the employer liable for the damages in this scenario? If so, what types of liability damages would be appropriate in this case?
6.How does the scenario relate to the elements of a negligent act (negative act, positive act, voluntary act, imputed act, vicarious liability)?

Please give me a step-by-step account of how to start a business based in the state of Florida and can operate in all 67 counties. The business in question is a combined land clearing and leveling AND logging company. Also, I need all the advice on securing startup capital (and how to get business loans guaranteed by the SBA), how to get it as a certified woman-owned business, how to get government contracts, how to establish business credit, how to transform this startup into a thriving corporation, and whatever else is necessary.

Every practical lead and advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. 🙂
I sincerely apologize for not specifying what legal structure I wish to set the business up.I wish to set the business up as a privately-held corporation. Thank you in advance.
I want to incorporate as a S corporation.

I have a friend in school who sometimes tells these ridiculous stories and sometimes they are just to crazy to believe. He says that in the state of Florida, if a person of any age runs onto someone’s property to ding dong ditch them, they can come and shoot them pretty much with no legal repercussions because they were trespassing on his/her property and ran suspiciously. Is this true? Please Help!

I work full-time and live in New Jersey. For part-time work, I taught two different classes over the summer here in NJ. One company gave me a W-2 and the other a 1099-MISC. Both companies are listed out of state (Florida and California) on the forms. Do I need to file a nonresident tax return even though I taught here in the state that I reside in? Thanks in advance for any input.

Hi everybody here on Yahoo answers!

I hope you are all fine.

Just as usual, whenever you have got a problem which you can not solve on your own, we normally turn to other people for advice and some ideas on some certain issues in the life of somebody.

The thing is, I have got a female friend who just got pregnant and aborted after it became one month old. She started having sex with her boyfriend three months after her abortion. The problem is, whenever they have sex, some blood starts coming out of her vagina within the same period. The blood just flew for some minutes and stopped. Their sex life came to a stand still for one week. After one week they started having sex again and the blood also started coming out of her private part as they were having sex. Now the question which she asked was, Am I at risk of falling pregnant or not? I failed to answer her question in full because I know very little about the human body especially the women. I just told her that if that blood came out as a result of having her menses then her chances of falling pregnant are high but if that blood was as a result of the injuries caused by the abortion then there’s no need of her worrying of falling prenant again as the chances becomes very slim. For me to verify what I told her, I have turned to you people so that I can help my friend get clear of her situation.

    Thanking you in advance.

I saw a pretty scary show on Discover Channel that showed how landslides, usually from the sides of volcanoes near the sea, can cause HUGE tsunamis (much higher than underwater earthquakes). It said they can be hundreds of feet high (like one in Alaska). I’m just wondering if an Atlantic tsunami could wash over the state of Florida from east coast to west?

After much more time to build a case than the norm, the State of Florida decided to charge Zimmerman with 2nd Degree Murder. Now that it looks like that the elements of proof for that crime are going to be difficult for the prosecution to get a conviction, the judge may allow the jury to consider a lesser charge (Manslaughter).

Shouldn’t the prosecution be held to their own standard; shouldn’t the state have to prove that Zimmerman is guilty of 2nd degree murder beyond a reasonable doubt? Do you think that the jury should be allowed to consider convicting Zimmerman of Manslaughter? Is that really justice for Trayvon Martin?

has it entered into an implied warranty of safety with its customers? For example, if a mall prohibits its customers from entering while carrying legally-obtained and legally-carried firearms and simultaneously has “mall security”, when a shooter enters that mall and starts murdering people, has the mall entered into a liability situation wherein it can now be held responsible in the civil courts for any deaths or injuries?

I had a rta (road-traffic-accident) in 1997 when I broke my neck and had a head injury. I was awarded many thousands for that, and would like to be taken out of the court of protection so that i can access my money. Currently they pay me my weekly benefits, but the main money is pretty much untouchable. I had the accident when i was 16. I am now 32, with a wife and step daughter coming to live with me from Kenya. In court I told the judge that I had a lot of money in the bank, and I’m pretty sure that that was a contributing factor to his decision to allow them over to live with me. So how do I get out then? Note when I get out I want my money put in a trust fund so I can still claim benefits. I think I need a (private) psychological assessment done, and a form filled in. Any ideas?

What is the moving notice I need to give if I am moving out in the state of Florida? And also, if my roommate is breaking the lease, do I need to pay a lease breakage? If I do, am I obligated to find her another roommate?

I live in florida with a roommate and it hasn’t been peachy. She has someone constantly sleeping over at our house and using up the living room. I feel uncomfortable being in the living room when she and her “friend” are over. I am willing to break the lease and move it. I need to know how much notice I need to give her to move out. My roommate and I are under a 1 year lease and the lease does not end until February 2014.

    What crime did he commit?

There’s no evidence that he committed any crime and therefor this should be seen as illegal stalking which is part of the state law in Florida and given Trayvon the right to physically defend himself from a perceived threat.

“Stand your ground” has nothing to do with running after a person and instigating a confrontation. Zimmerman is guilty of murder.

At the point that Zimmerman used hostile speech Towards Trayvon, he proved to be the clear aggressor (“These assholes, they always get away”) indicating he already had aggression towards Trayvon.

Section 784.048. STALKING; DEFINITIONS; PENALTIES. 1997.

    (1) As used in this section, the term:

    (a) “Harass” means to engage in a course of conduct directed at a specific person that causes substantial emotional distress in such person and serves no legitimate purpose.

    (b) “Course of conduct” means a pattern a conduct composed of series of acts over a period of time, however short, evidencing a continuity of purpose. Constitutionally protected activity is not included within the meaning of “course of conduct.” Such constitutionally protected activity includes picketing or other organized protests.

    (c) “Credible threat” means a threat made with the intent to cause the person who is the target of the threat to reasonably fear for his or her safety. The threat must be against the life of, or a threat to cause bodily injury to, a person.
