I just financed a car and the dealership is telling me that more than likely the bank that is financing the deal will ask to see cancelled checks. I get paid with a handwritten company check with taxes deducted and all that because I work for a small office. I’ve signed the agreement and everything but I’m worried about being able to obtain the cancelled checks. Is this a make or break type of request? What if I can’t obtain that? Will the bank not finance the deal? I’ve already been given the vehicle and everything and I’m driving it. The finance manager at the dealership explained that they may or may not ask for such copies. Can I refuse? I would hate to have my office look for such things as they are probably with their CPA.
    What do you think?

We are currently 98 days past due on our car. A repo man came by tonight looking for it and he told us that if we didn’t surrender the car that the finance company is going to serve us a warrant for out arrest. Can this be true? Can they do that?

My son purchased a car and was led to believe he was financing the balance of the ‘purchase’ price. He was not given a copy of papers signed for supposed financing and was told they would arrive in the mail. The title never was issued and we went to the DMV to request a title which we received in a few days. On the title, a lien holder was listed. When I called them, they said they had not financed the car. This has the smell of a fishy deal.

We have signed over the title to our clunker, the dealer has cashed our check and we have received the first bill for our loan to finance vehicle. Dealer has given us the new vehicle and all paperwork except for an MSO which is the paper we need in order to title our vehicle in our name. We believe that vehicle is ours and they have no right to withhold the title. They say they will hold the title until they get their money from the government.

I bought a used car this past sunday. I signed papers and left with the vehicle. The finance manager called me and said she has an approval and wants to go over the terms with me. Is this just a scam to get me to come in and agree to a higher rate or higher monthly payments? Or is it normal to go back to the dealership to finalize everything?
