Countering with details and statistics doesn’t appear to operate. Rather, hearing Republicans’ rants could be educational for any progressive, since the anti-government sentiment highlights the masterful job finished by conservatives and also the wealthy through the years, because they have essentially convinced a lot of America to argue against on their own matters of politics and also the economy.

It might be preferable to defend myself against the actual villains.

    1. Medical Companies

They’re taking much more in our money than Medicare insurance does. Based on the Council for reasonable Medical Health Insurance, medical administrative costs like a number of claims are around three occasions greater web hosting insurance compared to Medicare insurance. The U.S. Institute of drugs reviews the for-profit system wastes $750 billion annually on waste, fraud, and ineffectiveness. Like a percent of GDP, we spend $1.2 trillion a lot more than the OECD average.

That’s a sum comparable to the whole deficit wasted on private health care companies. One inch every six dollars we earn would go to doctors, hospitals, drug companies, and insurance providers. All top reasons to redirect our hate.

    2. Retirement Brokers

Various reviews have came to the conclusion that administrative costs for 401(k) plans tend to be greater than individuals for Social Security — as much as twenty occasions more.

It might be difficult to get, or perhaps imagine, any short-term-profit-based private insurance provider that’s fully funded for the following twenty five years. Social Security is. It really works for those retired people while private plans work with a restricted quantity of traders.

    3. Banks

Government is frequently blamed for local budget shortfalls, but metropolitan areas and cities round the country happen to be frequently wronged with a “bid-rigging” procedure that diverts vast amounts of dollars — a couple of 1000 at any given time — from numerous naive towns towards the accounts of the couple of large banks.

Individual home owners, especially unprivileged, are also wronged through the banks. Due to the housing crash and also the corresponding reduction in house values, black homes lost over 1 / 2 of their median wealth, and Hispanic homes almost two-thirds.

You will find scams and ripoffs in abundance: the independently run Mortgage Electronic Registration System (MERS) headed in the illegal foreclosures business the banking association LIBOR was responsible for rate of interest manipulation and lots of banking institutions have involved in the subtle art of imposing hidden costs. Charge cards consist of “gray charges” like surprise monthly subscriptions and auto-renewal that cost the typical consumer $356 annually.

Yet we’re instructed to keep having to pay. Shockingly, it’s been believed that 40% of each and every dollar we invest in products or services would go to banks as interest.

Public banks, however, concentrate on the needs of towns and smaller businesses instead of on traders. Probably the most well-known example may be the Bank of North Dakota (BND), that has effectively labored with local banks through the condition, marketing business growth through financial loans that the bigger bank may be unwilling to make, while controlling to make money each year within the last 4 decades.

    4. Greater Education Operators

Outdoors from the banking industry, there might not be a far more egregious illustration of public abuse compared to expropriation of greater education by profit-searchers who’ve exposed underemployed youthful individuals to many years of education loan obligations. The gathering of remarkable student debts are handled in good part by large banks like JP Morgan and Citigroup.

In many nations tuition remains free or nominal, however in America, as noted by Noam Chomsky, the fact that education fortifies a rustic is giving method to a philosophy of having to pay for your own personel educational benefits. Meanwhile, the “corporatization of universities” has brought to some dramatic rise in managers while relatively costly programs like nursing, engineering and information technology are now being cut.

However the easy financial loans keep accumulating interest lengthy after college finishes. Having a hint of foreboding, the customer Financial Protection Bureau and Department of Education reported the education loan debacle continues to be fueled through the same forces that brought towards the subprime mortgage collapse.

The “invisible hand” from the free marketplace is not able, or reluctant, to fulfill the requirements of society in most these areas. For your it deserves our contempt.

They are mostly directing the agencies under his control to share information for more effective background checks and do further research into gun safety, mental illnesses, and violence. He even wants incentives for schools to have guards. No where does it place limits on what gunowners can have. (It does propose the attorney general look into who shouldn’t have guns, but the Order doesn’t limit anyone by itself. That would be a discussion for another day)

    1. “Issue a presidential memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system.”
    2. “Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system.”
    3. “Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system.”
    4. “Direct the attorney general to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.”
    5. “Propose rulemaking to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun.”
    6. “Publish a letter from ATF to federally licensed gun dealers providing guidance on how to run background checks for private sellers.
    7. “Launch a national safe and responsible gun ownership campaign.”
    8. “Review safety standards for gun locks and gun safes (Consumer Product Safety Commission).”
    9. “Issue a presidential Memorandum to require federal law enforcement to trace guns recovered in criminal investigations.”
    10. “Release a DOJ report analyzing information on lost and stolen guns and make it widely available to law enforcement.”
    11. “Nominate an ATF director.”
    12. “Provide law enforcement, first responders, and school officials with proper training for active shooter situations.”
    13. “Maximize enforcement efforts to prevent gun violence and prosecute gun crime.”
    14. “Issue a presidential memorandum directing the Centers for Disease Control to research the causes and prevention of gun violence.”
    15. “Direct the attorney general to issue a report on the availability and most effective use of new gun safety technologies and challenge the private sector to develop innovative technologies.”
    16. “Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes.”
    17. “Release a letter to health care providers clarifying that no federal law prohibits them from reporting threats of violence to law enforcement authorities.”
    18. “Provide incentives for schools to hire school resource officers.”
    19. “Develop model emergency response plans for schools, houses of worship and institutions of higher education.”
    20. “Release a letter to state health officials clarifying the scope of mental health services that Medicaid plans must cover.”
    21. “Finalize regulations clarifying essential health benefits and parity requirements within ACA exchanges.”
    22. “Commit to finalizing mental health parity regulations.”
    23. “Launch a national dialogue led by Secretaries Sebelius and Duncan on mental health.”
“My executive orders are pretty good so that they don’t need to pass through the Congress and be standardized with the Constitution”

He doesn’t need a bill from Congress to tell the agencies he is responsible for how to do their job. Be reasonable.
“A lot of it is composed of things we’re already supposed to be doing”

And now he plans to enforce them. Which is his job. So why so much resistance?
Pat, I appreciate your thorough response. But besides rolling your eyes at the meaningfulness of the Orders, you haven’t noted anything unconstitutional with them (with a possibly valid point on #2). Certainly nothing that warrants that unrest it’s drawn from the Right.

*** This could get long, but please read on and help as much as you can, thanks ***

Alright so I woke up about 3 days ago with a sore throat but only on the right part of my tonsils. Then later that day I found out (by feeling it) that it’s a canker sore on my right tonsil, but deep in there (and I’ve never gotten them there ever before). Still later that day I started getting sharp ear pains whenever I swallow ON TOP of the throat pain. And I know that the throat and ears are very much connected since I can trace the area of pain with my finger on my neck from the canker sore itself all the way to the hole of my ear.

I’ve read a lot of sites and pretty much all of them suggest to tough it out anywhere from 3 days to a couple weeks and do the best I can to numb the pain and speed the healing process. A couple sites suggested taking ibuprofen, but a couple sites say that ibuprofen was linked to canker sore causes, so now I’m confused. We have aspirin, but I’m a big guy (weight-wise) with somewhat of a high tolerance to drugs, and the aspirins we have are all low dose. ALTHOUGH, before I ever knew that ibuprofen could cause canker sores, I took about 400mg of it and fortunately, the ear pain would “lessen” in about 45 minutes and last about 4-5 hours. But should I continue using ibuprofen despite claims that it causes canker sores?

It really sucks because the pain is keeping me from working out, eating properly, and sleep. When I thought about it, I came up with a ton of reasons as to why it started.

-Stress and fatigue (Insanity workouts while I’m still overweight)

-Ibuprofen (I had been taking ibuprofen almost everyday for the past week and a half)

-Toothpaste (just found out that my toothpaste contained Sodium lauryl sulfate, which also causes cankers)

-Weather (it was really windy that night when my throat started to hurt and my window was slightly opened, I may have caught some bacteria from the wind? Although I’ve read that tonsil cankers are not viral or bacterial, so not sure)

-Just pure bad luck (maybe my tonsils got messed up from whatever I ate recently, or something whatever happened and caused a rupture, etc.)

I’m continuing to perform home remedies though, in the hopes of speeding up the healing process. Like gargling baking soda or salt with warm water, gargling hydrogen peroxide, and applying baking soda paste (but since it’s on my tonsil, it’s hard to apply anything because that area is always wet and slippery).

    Final Questions:
Which pain medication should I take for best results? Aspirin? Ibuprofen? Anything else?

Any other effective home remedies to sooth it? Keep in mind that my canker sore is deep into my right tonsil so I’m gonna need to reach in there to touch it, etc.

When should I go see a doctor? (Sad to say but no insurance at the moment, so this area could get flaky)

    THANK YOU!!

My brother is politically active and has had violence incited against. He wants to get a gun for self-defense in his home. He claims to know about firearm safety and will keep the gun under his mattress (go figure). There are no children in the home.

What is more effective for protection, dogs or guns? Informed opinions only please. References would be greatly appreciated!

Our son was involved in an accident 3yrs ago which required an ambulance ride. we were never contacted or informed of any bill and easy to locate as we live at that same address for over 10 yrs. we have good auto and medical insurance which would have covered it, we have good credit, until now. we went to do something and were denied credit which is how we discovered this issue. we have many phone call to all involved parties, initial company, collection agency, insurance companies and nothing resolved. when we ask collection people why we were never sent and bill and explain that we have/had insurance to cover this stuff their claim is that they couldn’t locate us and our son would not give information, not true who cares, were insured. the insurance companies states that it has reached a 2yr statue of limitation. when I asked the ambulance company why they didn’t obtain the information from my son their response was that the drivers are too busy and dont have time..

I made an automobile insurance claim for a car accident I had. I received a check for the damage minus the deductible. I have decided not to repair the car. Can I still deposit/cash the check for the claim and never repair the damage. Is it fraud if I don’t make the repairs?

Is there a law requiring a citizen to have a SSN/Participate in the Social Security program? This is assuming that they do not want to participate in such program.

    http://home.hiwaay.net/~becraft/ssn.html

If you claim there is then please cite the LAW and the law only. (eg. 42USC666(a)(2)(i))
That is how you cite it.
To live and work within the states of the union then.

We got hit by lightning and blew out a bunch of things. Since Directtv covered the cost of those replacements (yes, this is a plug – they deserve it), our total cost for replacing everything will be about $500 over our $1,000 deductible. We’re trying to determine if we’re better off eating the cost.

Our insurance office says we will have a claims surcharge of one point for three years. How do we figure out what that will be in real dollars?
