You’ve got a problem. Your motorcycle was stolen. “How significantly can I get from insurance?” is probably going to be the first query on your mind. And it all depends upon the type of policy that you have taken out on your motorcycle. So, just before you get into a theft predicament, you will want to evaluation your insurance policy.

The 1st factor that any individual who is interested in acquiring a motorcycle must know is that if your bike is stolen, they are hardly ever recovered. And simply because of this, motorcycle insurance is incredibly crucial for bikes that are being utilized as a major mode of transportation. They are not recovered due to the fact the thieves are very savvy and perform rapidly. Most stolen motorcycles in no way remain intact for long. Instead, they are stripped and the components are utilised to create other bikes.

The only way that you can get most of the expense of the bike back in the occasion that it is stolen is to acquire a extensive motorcycle insurance policy. This will cover you for any damages that are brought on by collision, vandalism, fire, or theft. But bear in mind that you will only get the Blue Book value of motorcycle at the time that it is stolen if you have a standard policy. Custom components, paint, or trailers and sidecars are not covered underneath most insurance plans. If you want all of these items covered by your policy, you will want to pick a comprehensive custom motorcycle insurance which will compensate you for the charges of the additional customization. You can also take a comprehensive plan and ask about alternative equipment coverage to supplement your existing motor cycle insurance policy.

In order to preserve your bike secure and avert a person from even attempting to steal it, you will want to take some precautions when you are leaving your bike alone. Very first, you often want to store it in a locked garage. Never ever leave it out on the street when you never have to. You will also want to lock the motorcycle to a stationery object, even if it is in a garage. This will make it tougher for any individual to steal. And ultimately, you will want to set up some type of anti-theft device or alarm on your bike so the thieves will simply get caught red-handed or be deterred from stealing it.

With the proper coverage, you will very easily be in a position to guard oneself from motorcycle theft and if it occurs get the correct amount of compensation from the insurer.

I presently don’t possess a motorcycle but am curious the price of covering it. My home is Vermont and so i would simply be riding it from June to September. I’d most likely be riding a 2002 Yamaha YZF R6.

I have been saving up for a car for a while now and have about $10,000 saved up but the way gas is these days I’m looking into purchasing a motorcycle instead. I barely know anything about cars and my knowledge of motorcycles is very limited. What’s a good brand/model to buy? I’m looking for new with a warranty of some kind. What would you recommend?

I will be traveling to Oahu in April of 2007. The place we are staying charges $17.00 a day to park. We both have our motorcycle indorsement. Only problem is theft!

    Hi,
My motorcycle was stolen last month from my driveway and progressive denied the claim to cover it. I do NOT have a valid drivers license, so the bike/insurance is in my mothers name. We didn’t have collision on the bike, only comprehensive which covers theft. I rode the bike to/from work knowing if I crashed it I would be screwed, but I wasn’t on the bike when it was stolen…. Do I have a case at all? Aren’t they covering property not the person when it’s stationary? Thank you

I’ve been thinking about getting a street bike but there are a few major things that I’m concerned about.

    1. How do you keep the motorcycle from being stolen when you park it for several hours?
    2. Will insurance cover the theft of a motorcycle?
    3. After you ride, where do you keep your helmet and riding gear? I’m going to college and I don’t know where I would put it. Also it’s going to be a Ninja 250r, not a bike with saddle bags.

I know carfax doesn’t do motorcycles, but how can I make sure I’m buying a bike that’s not a lemon? Is there a way to check the vin through something else?

My motorcycle was stolen today. I just had it fixed last week and didn’t even get a chance to get it insured. But the tool who stole it crashed into a parked truck. The cops were there of course and all, and they were told I have no insurance and didn’t ticket me. So who is at fault?

My motorcycle was stolen and after my insurance paid off the remaining loan they sent me a check for the rest of what the bike was worth. It totaled a little over $5000. Will I have to pay taxes on that money come income tax season?

    Hello,

I have a friend who would like to store his motorcycle in my garage while he is on vacation for a week. Is there any way I can have him sign a waiver so that I am not liable for any possible damage to it (garage collapses, it gets stolen, etc)? I don’t know if my insurance covers the garage and I would rather not file a claim if necessary for doing my friend a favor. If so, would this be a legally binding contract?

Thanks in advance for any help!

My custom 04′ Yamaha R6 was stolen a little over a year ago. The insurance company paid me for the claim shortly after. Now I come to find out that my bike was found in the exact same condition. Nothing has changed except for the frame had been swapped out. The insurance company has asked me to make an offer to buy back the bike but I’m not sure where to start. I’m excited that I have the opportunity to get my bike back but i don’t want to get ripped off. Any suggestions?

Our motorcycle was stolen and the apartment complex was aware that there thefts going on inside the complex. We had gone to them before saying there had been attempts to steal our cars before, and they did nothing. We took as much precaution as we could, but it was not enough. Can I hold them liable because they knew there was a serious problem and did nothing to protect us as renters?

My Motorcycle got stolen when I went out 2 days ago, it happened between 9pm and 11pm…I came home and when I was parking my car I didnt see the motorcycle…the chains were cut and left on the floor, no one towed it since it has a parking permit…
Should I contact a lawyer and make the management of my apartment complex show me the video tape of the entrance?
I wont recover the motorcycle…thats for sure. what should I do?
I contacted the police that same night, they asked me a few questions and saw the cut chains on the floor, and said that 99% of the time motorcycles cant get recovered. He gave me an event number and left. I would probably get a police officer to go with me and ask to view the tape.

I just recently got my bike stolen. Around 5 to 530 someone stole my bike at a local mall, in a decent neighborhood. This was a $300 bike that i just got. I reported in to the police and everything. I might sound like an idiot, but is there anyway i can get any money from the mall. they had no cameras, no signs, nothing! and i locked the bike with a good chain too.

I roll by myself, so no problem there with having to drive other people.

BUT…taking into account mpg, insurance, and the risk of having your motorcycle stolen, is driving a car better overall? Any other pros/cons factors I’m missing? I’m under 25 and not married. All that good stuff.
    it rarely rains in california

I owe almost $5,000 on it to the bank. Is there anything I can do besides taking this big loss? Please help I need suggestions!

  21. Denae March 23, 2013 at 10:21 am #

My buddy bought a crotch rocket and he got a loan from the bank to pay for the whole thing. He thinks he can get away without paying insurance until next spring or summer. I’ve heard but have no proof of the fact that a bank with drop your loan if you’re not insured and he;s too stubborn and pathetic to believe me. Is this true?

My motorcycle was stolen out of my carport I rent from my apartment complex. I only have liability on my motorcycle insurance but since it was in my rented property do I have a valid claim? I live in Kansas if that matter/

  23. Jay March 23, 2013 at 3:35 pm #

I’m trying to choose between a couple years old honda civic coupe (approx $10k) and a couple year old motorcycle (not sure exactly which one yet, but planning on getting a reliable and affordable bike that is a couple years old).

I also will buy a quality helmet, jacket, boots, and gloves.

Is insurance more or less expensive? Also take into consideration gas savings, potential medical bills (hopefully not), etc.

Specifically, how much cheaper is it?

  24. Jude March 23, 2013 at 4:04 pm #

    specifically for progressive motorcycle insurance.

are the driving history for cars separate from motorcycle?

i got a ticket for not making a right turn on red when there was a no turn on red sign a year ago.

  25. Harland March 23, 2013 at 4:12 pm #

My motorcycle was stolen and then recovered later that day. It was taken to a tow yard and the adjuster only checked for cosmetic damage. Well after getting the bike back after 2 months in the shop it will only run 3 miles and then kills. Was insurance suppose to check for engine damage also?

  26. Darnell March 23, 2013 at 6:13 pm #

Does it affect insurance, is it illegal to drive, what does this mean?

  27. Hana March 23, 2013 at 10:05 pm #

Ok we live on a hill and we have two cars that block the drive-way in and it’s has a chain-linked fence all the way around our back yard. It’s noway any car can get back there. Well inside our fence is another fence maybe 20x15ft and it has 3 trees within that fence all side by side. Do you guys think my motorcycle will be safe chained up here? We stay in a safe neighborhood but you just never know.

  28. Shanell March 23, 2013 at 10:20 pm #

I live in a good area, but the surrounding neighborhoods are not so great. countless times cars have been broken into, vehicles have been stolen, and theft activity is always happening. Does the owner have any responsibilities in ensuring the safety or security of the properties of the tenants living in the apartments? Or is it an “oh well” situation?

  29. Denver March 24, 2013 at 2:33 am #

Just want to know if motorcycle insurance works the same way car insurance do.

  30. Harvey March 24, 2013 at 9:43 am #

    Quick rundown of the situation.

Moved State to Illinois for work. Insurance rates are a little different for cars but then again my record is clean but I have yet to insure my motorcycle and thinking of buying a second one for my son to ride with but want to get this question answered first.

    For me I own a 2007 Yamaha YZF-R6
    -Super-Sport
    -600cc
    -Never damaged,stolen, nor tickets
    – Was paying around $300 dollars per year State Farm Full coverage

For my son we were planning to buy a second generation Honda CBR 600rr 07-09
    -600cc
    -Super sport
    -Has license
    -No tickets
    -BRC completed
    – 18 Years old
-With my family plan for insurance

So anyone can give me rates that they pay answering these questions, just to see what company I should look into.
    – Age
    -Insurance company
    – type of motorcycle
    – Yearly rate
    – And the type of coverage they have on it.

During September of last year, my motorcycle got stolen from the basement of my apartment building in California. Total estimated loss is around $6,000. Is there a way to claim the entire or at least partial loss in the 2007 taxes? I have copies of the police report as proof. Please help.
Update: Insurance didn’t pay for the losses. I already declared as loss with California Department of Motor Vehicles.

  34. Natasha March 25, 2013 at 1:49 am #

It seems two really strong men could simply pick up say, a Kawasaki Versys at 400 pounds to put it into the back of a pickup truck. However, a 700 pound + cruiser may require freeing up the steering from any locking system (chain, etc.) THEN rolling the cruiser up into a covered trailer, which would be very conspicious in a parking lot. Does anyone agree that a cruiser would be harder to steal?

  35. Lucinda March 25, 2013 at 4:41 pm #

Buying a used bike, just want to know the easiest/cheapest way to find out if a bike is stolen. Will the police check the VIN for free, or is there a charge? Does http://www.carfax.com work for motorcycle background checks, or just cars? Keep in mind, i’m from Canada so it might be different at american DMV’s etc…. not sure. Thanks.

  36. Torie March 26, 2013 at 1:47 pm #

I know the lender of the loan wants his money even if the bike gets stolen/totaled/breaks down what ever. But why do i need to have full coverage. So if the bike gets stolen/totaled whatever isn’t all the lender worried about is getting his money? So if that happens i will tell the lender not to worry i will keep paying payments until the loan is paid off because i dont want to ruin my credit.
To PJ: What if i tell them the lender dont worry if anything happens i will pay for the bike. I bought it for $3000 and my interest rate is 7.99%.
But how likely is it for them to check for full insurance on a 3000 bike? if i pay it off in 3 months.

  37. Ahmad March 26, 2013 at 2:11 pm #

I know this was stupid. The problem now is that he stoped paying the issurance. And he has been hiding from me and ignoring my calls. I thought about reporting the bike stolen but I don’t want to do that. what should I do?

  38. Dian March 27, 2013 at 4:01 am #

This is probably a stupid question, but my wife brought it up and I really couldn’t answer her. I don’t think people would, but there is a lot of douchebags out there. I’m going to be buying a bike real soon (at least i’m hoping too), and would use it for work. Is that wise though, do jerks mess with motorcycles in parking lots? I do a lot of night shifts. I’m a definite newbie, so I figured I’d ask.
    thanks all

I need to get insurance today as I’m picking up my motorcycle later, it’s a 1977 Honda CG125. The cheapest quote I have found is £377 TPFT, and that’s with two years’ NCB! Granted I’m still on a provisional licence but still ridiculous.

Also, can anyone explain if there is any point at all forking out £150 more a year for Theft and Fire cover when it demands £500 excess? I’d have to pay that if it were stolen, right? Even though I paid less than that for the bike…

I want to buy a motorcycle in the future but I don’t know if it is going to stolen easily.

  48. Georgette March 29, 2013 at 3:39 pm #

My friend borrowed my motorcyle and we had a verbal agreement that if anything happened while in his possession he’d be held responsible. The motorcycle doesn’t have insurance b/c its not required. He got a ticket for the accident for reckless driving. Now I’m getting sent a bill for the car he hit and have my motorcycle estimate, that he stated before borrowing if anything happened he’d take responsibility, and of course now he says he’s not paying. If I sue him based on the above information is it likely that the judge will make him pay for all the damages? I really need guidance on this please and thanks!

I’ve just bought a stolen/recovered motorbike. It’s a DR125 which has been used on the fields. I would like to get it back on the road. I have bought a new engine for the bike which has engine numbers, however the frame numbers have been removed. I got a full receipt with the bike when i purchased it. Is there anyway of re-registering the bike??

My Motorcycle got stolen and the police just picked it up. Turns out the thief spray painted the bike all black (it was red) and damaged some parts of it. The insurance company was days away from sending me a check for the bike. Will they just cut me a check for the damages and I can sell the bike as is, keeping both?

A side note, I have Geico. Will they work with me to meet in the middle, if I sold the bike and the difference between what I sold it for and what they were going to give me is less than repairs. Basically, I don’t think I want the bike anymore, They were going to give me about $6000 but now fully repaired the bike will probably only be worth $5000, right now I could probably get $1500, POSSIBLY more. I figure it will cost anywhere from 3-5k to fix, I don’t know what they will be replacing and what they are going to try to say doesn’t.

Does anyone have any better thoughts? Is this a possibility?
I picked the bike up from the site the police found it, and drove it home. The bike is not totaled mechanically, granted they may total it based on how much money is necessary for repairing the paint.

When you get a motorcycle financed and the bank requires the owner to get full insurance coverage on your bike. Lets say if I were to cancel my insurance after couple of months because of some reason and not have any policy for next year. Will the bank find out and penalize me until I get one?

Or can I get away with that?

    Thanks………

Ive been thinking about getting a motorcycle , but people have been telling me about how people can steal it. Im getting one anyway, with a gorilla alarm system, but if a person were to steal my bike would i get my money back from the insurance or a new bike ? what would i get?

  55. Terri March 31, 2013 at 12:34 pm #

I was talking to the guys at the shop and someone told me that I could get “liability” insurance on my bike for as low as $150 a year.

What exactly does this mean, and what does it cover?

Let’s pretend that I’m reckless enough to hit a another car. Would I have to pay for that car’s damage? What about the car hitting me?

  56. Emma March 31, 2013 at 12:48 pm #

I could only find ONE motorcycle insurance thing called Kingsway and its $156 a month for a Kawasaki 125 Eliminator, which is BLOODY EXPENSIVE. So are there more motorcycle insurance things….. that are cheaper????!!! I’m 21. Thanx.

Will be moving to LA from London next year and trying to decide between getting a car or a motorcycle (experienced rider) wanted to get the lowdown on parking. From what I gathered they treat bikes just like cars but since it’s a much smaller vehicle is it easier to park, can u find free parking in like Santa Monica, Hollywood, downtown kinda areas? Also if anyone can give me a rough idea of average insurance costs for 600cc bike and any other advice welcome. Thank you

I am planning on getting a 250cc cruiser bike [probably a Honda Rebel (I dont know what year yet)]. I took a motorcycle safety course as well. How much do you think I will be looking at for motorcycle insurance added to my car insurance policy under these circumstances.

Also say if it is a crotch rocket a cruiser….etc. I am seventeen and wondering what a roundabout insurance quote would be for me.

I keep seeing a commercial for Geico motorcycle insurance and I like the song in it. The commercial shows the two cavemen riding up to two hot girls on their motorcycles. They see a billboard for Geico and turn away, leaving the girls confused. The words in the song are something like “don’t wanna hurt you……it’s just a matter of trust.” Does anyone know the name of the song and who does it?

I am 19 years old and wanting a gas powered scooter for local commuting and riding around college. How much does insurance on one of these run? If you do not have one currently insured then don’t answer because I know it is not the same as motorcycle insurance since scooters only get up to 45 mph. Thanks!
p.s. “who cares” I work for the state department full time and have the money for insurance. I am just wondering how much it runs because I like to be responsible with money. If the costs of insurance make up the savings in gas then it is not worth getting one.

  99. Isaias April 11, 2013 at 10:38 am #

I spoke with my auto insurance agent this morning (at American Family). She said the following:

    1. Full coverage insurance on an everyday 2004 (500cc) Honda Motorcycle would run me about $130/year.

    2. I can’t get any kind of coverage on a sport bike until I’ve had my motorcycle license for 10 years; and even if I did, it would cost me $1,000/year.

Please tell me everything you know about motorcycle insurance. Do I even need it? I want to buy a used sport bike (600cc or less) and spend around $3k for it. If something happens, it’s not like I’m wrecking a $20k new car or even my primary transportation – and the cost to fix it wouldn’t be that bad. Even if it was, at $1,000/year for insurance, I might as well just take my chances, right?
I’m a 22 year old male. I will be taking the motorcycle safety course in late spring or early summer this year. I will then get my motorcycle license.
My issue is that I CANNOT GET insurance for a sport bike, even if I was willing to pay $1,000. They said I need to have a license for 10 years and I’m not willing to wait around for a decade.

Who will give me coverage on a sport bike for cheap being an inexperienced rider?

Okay i am getting my first bike (ninja 650R) and was wondering what would the most ideal insurance policy be? As far as i know i do not have health insurance. Should i get health insurance with motorcycle insurance? Would the motorcycle insurance cover injury if for some reason i were to get into an accident? Don’t plan on it, but looking out for myself here. Ninja 650R is generally a cheap bike and looking at an 09 model. Wouldn’t leave the house without proper gear on and of course a DOT approved helmet. What do you guys think and any recommendations on insurance

    a) doesnt have M2
    b) doesnt have at least 5 years driving experience and/or is under 25

How am i suppose to get my M2 if i cant insure a motorcycle to learn on when i have my M1? it says you need to be 16 years to get your M1, but you cant get a motorcycle until you hit 22, this is just utterly stupid.

  131. Alejandra May 6, 2013 at 11:19 am #

I got my motorcycle stolen and it was found parted out…I recovered basically everything but the frame and the swing arm..I hear that the frame is what your paperwork is on, meaning your title..I have a lean still on the bike and once I pay it off I will have the title…now do I have to go buy a frame that has clear paper work (meaning not salvaged) because I have to use that paperwork, or can I use the paperwork I have and use my engine as the vin number…not sure how this works…will have two different vins, one on the engine, one on the frame…also if I have to do the frame, will that make the bike whatever year the frame is?? so I could buy a newer frame and have a newer bike?? basically I need to know if my paperwork is fine and just use the engines vin number so I can buy a straight salvaged frame with no paper work…this way the frame is much much cheaper..

My motorcycle was stolen from my complex about 2 months ago. The officer taking my report said this is a common occurrence for my complex. Do i have a case against my complex? Maybe for negligence, since it is not a gated community, and they were aware of this problem?
I had just spent $2k in upgrades 3 days before it was stolen. I lost my job because it was stolen. I, also, received a fine for ‘littering’ from my complex when i put up reward posters, because someone tore them down, and left them scattered all over the complex.
    Thanks.

    Hello,

Back in November I purchased a 125cc motorcycle via eBay for £1000. About 3 weeks later straight after I had changed the log books in my name I received a phone call from the police stating that the motorcycle was in fact stolen a year ago!

After the motorcycle had been seized from me by the police, I had recently been told by legal services that they are waiting for the magistrates court to decide a date for when they should decide weather the motorcycle should be given back to me or to the original owner.

How long does it take to receive a date from the magistrates court in this situation?

I have no other method of transport so I am getting impatient with the situation.

It would help me very much if you could help me out!

    Thank you ! 🙂

My Brother and his wife had both of their cars stolen with in a week from a ‘locked’ and gated parking garage at their apartment complex. It turns out the security cameras never worked and the owners were well aware of this even a year ago when a motorcycle was stolen from the same location.

Give the outrageous rent and the fact they have to pay for secure gated parking I would think having a garage that is not properly secure with at least working security cameras (which they refuse to fix) makes them partially responsible for making it easier to break in and steal from their property,

    What do you advise?

I purchased a used motorcycle on Craigslist of a total of 4,400. With a agreement we set up stating I’d paid 500 down, Then 350 and month for 11 and a half months. When I finished paying for the motorcycle guy tried running off with the title for 2 years. I’ve had my same job for 3 years he knew where i worked and lived, He waited a whole 2 years and steals my motorcycle. I reported it stolen immediately when i got out of work. He didn’t. Cops found him 20minutes away from where i live and he is claiming that i didn’t pay him $500 dollars so he took the bike back out of his own hands. Since the cops can’t arrest him because he had the title I now have to go to court.

My flaw is that I don’t have receipts, I paid cash. his flaw is that he never reported the motorcycle stolen within those 2 years and just stole it from outside my work. What are my best options? I want to get a lawyer but I don’t want to lose anymore money and be out of luck.

I do have the contract agreement with his signature, a hand full of witness who witnessed me pay. Work history income of how much money I made the year I was paying. …I’m sure when I go to court the guy is going to come up with a bunch of who knows what bs So I will have the upper hand. I just want to higher my chances of winning. That was a low move, he deserves to be punished.

  145. Jenell May 8, 2013 at 11:54 am #

Where else can I park a motorcycle at in boston? I am wondering if getting lowjack, a disk brake lock, and an alarm will be sufficient safety to parking my bike on the street in boston during the spring and summer months? I plan on having it stored in a secure area during the winter months. What other options are there than parking on the street during the spring and summer months in Boston?

My boyfriend lost the key to his motorcycle and he didn’t have the spare key so we had to call a locksmith to make the motorcycle key. It was really late and we had problems so the locksmith said he would come tomorrow. “Tomorrow” was when my bf had to go out of town for a few days so basically the motorcycle was left in the garage for several days.

Do you think it might be towed, fined, or anything like that??? The parking garage is FREE for motorcycles.

I had a motorcycle stolen from me and I’ve never paid the notes. Is it going to be possible for me to finance a new car even if it’s with an extremely high interest rate? My credit score is 689

Got motorcycle stolen, only had liablity insurance so this was not covered…I have been reading articles that said it is tax deductable if the amount exceeds 10 percent of my AGI. so if I make 50k and the loss is 10k….I should be able to tax deduct 5k…am I doing this right or is it even tax deductable?

How much approximately for a 17 yr old with a 250 ninja? what about a 600cc bike? I do not have my drivers license yet, only my permit and I would get a learners permit on my bike. How much do you think it will cost?

Buy it before then get your license or get your license first then a bike??? Anyone that has had this situation please answer and help this guy out.

My motorcycle was stolen last month, and it was reported the day of the theft, I’m still waiting on the check to pay for the theft, but the insurance company has drafted two insurance payments from my bank account for a motorcycle I don’t posses anymore. is this normal? Do I have to wait to cancel the insurance on it till the theft claim is complete? I don’t feel I should have to pay insurance coverage for something I don’t own now.

I am planning on buying a 150cc scooter in the Spring. In Michigan, my home state, these are considered motorcycles. Also, in Michigan, they must be insured. My questions are:

    (1) If I am only riding my scooter for three months out of the year, will I still have to pay for insurance during the fall and winter?

    (2) What is the cheapest motorcycle insurance out there, and typically, how much would I be paying per month? I am a new cycle rider, but have driven a car for 5 years without an accident.

I got banned 4 years ago for drink drive but received no points. The ban has not affected my own (motorcycle) insurance by alot; oddly enough; however, after applying for a job recently the employer said it could cost their (fleet) insurance alot and the decision if i get the job is pending on this cost. Anyone have an idea of how much extra it would cost them.? Do company fleet insurers penalise more so than personal insurers ?

I have found an abandoned motorcycle. All I know is that it is a Honda – possibly in the CB series. It looks as if it has been abandoned for a very long time, and the motorcycle is rusty and beyond any use. But do you think salvaging the engine would be of any use? If I wanted to sell it on eBay I mean? The engine doesn’t look rusty at all – it might be all right. What do you reckon?

i just got motorcycle insurance and they didnt run my credit they gave me a policy just based on my driving history. Is this going to be the same when i get a new vehicle and if so is it because its different policies for the state of california?

  163. Heriberto June 7, 2013 at 2:25 am #

So, I bought a motorcycle and it is a salvage. It was salvaged a week ago but it doesn’t have any damage on it. It wasn’t stolen, flooded, dropped etc. It also doesn’t have any mechanical problems, it runs and drives perfectly too. And the fairings are perfect, except a small scratch (1 inch long) which isn’t noticeable unless you look carefully. It is in excellent condition. The scratch is on the top of the fairing so most likely it was because someones belt rubbed against it.

I got the carfax for the vehicle but the carfax says its active, which I think is because since the title is so new, it might need sometime getting to their records.

Now, I am appealing the title and I know it can be done in BC, but I am not sure about Alberta. I think that this is some type of an insurance fraud which if I uncover, I can get the active title back.

I got the bike from an auction, they also have all the records available ( pictures and the info) which they are willing to share with me without any costs.

How can I find out which company insured it last, so I can find out what was the problem with it…

    Thanks

I have liability policy with my insurance company, but had CPI through my bank. I owe less than what the bike is worth, but will my loan get paid off and my bank will approve me of getting another motorcycle.

I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little obsessed with motorcycles. But honestly, would it make a good first vehicle? I’ve never driven a motorcycle before, so I’m not sure if they’re difficult to maneuver. Is Motorcycle Insurance less expensive than car insurance? Is it difficult to become certified to drive one?

  166. Irma June 27, 2013 at 6:36 am #

The thing is I do want full coverage but the insurance company requires I get an alarm. I hear alarms drain batteries and upset people, and I don’t want to do that where I live in apartment complex, and my bike is parked outside. I was thinking of just buying a solid chain and padlock and chaining it around a tree.

  167. Winona June 30, 2013 at 11:02 am #

I have a motorcycle I want to protect. I don’t want to use chain because a bolt cutter would cut through it, especially a carbon fiber bolt cutter.

    Motorcycle Insurance?

  169. Michel August 2, 2013 at 2:39 am #

I sold a motorcycle to a guy who agreed numerous times to pay it off by a given date but never did. I have no less than ten times been given dates it would be paid off. This last time we signed another agreement and he has once again not come through. Can I get a repo man to puck it up? I have the title, registration and insurance in my name. I’m in Wisconsin.

I’m a new rider buying my first bike. I am not really sure which options are available for insurance.
I know ICBC has mandatory liability that has to be paid to them, however I’d like to know where the cheapest motorcycle insurance for a CBR500R is.

Any help or info would be appreciated

My employer of 10 years is too cheap to purchase insurance for very costly smartphones and wants all employees to sign off for responsibility of the cost if the phone gets damaged or stolen. I have been using my phone for 5 years with no problems on a professional level in the construction business. I have been refusing to sign responsibility for the cost of the phone because he doesnt want to purchase insurance. Its been 30 days amd I still havent signed. Today he took my motorcycle helmet while i was on the job and left me a letter saying he would not give it back until I signed for the phone. I then very angrily went and found my helmet and took it. Now he is angry with me. What are my rights here?
The thing is I signed my employee handbook taking responsibilty for company equiptment. Note, I have not accepted the phone and it is not in my possession. Nor will it be. I have had 3 company phones over the years and never had to sign for them. I work construction and these phones take a beating. I have my own personal phone that I ise for business that I have insured myself amd had to replace atleast once a year. I already know the phone will be damaged, so basically I would be signing over 600.00 for the cost of the new phone when it does get damaged.
I work construction. I cant justify needing a smartphone. Its great for office personnel but not the workers.
