Hello all, thank you in advance for answering my question.

I am looking into filing bankruptcy at this point in my life. I am aware of all the risks that is accompanied with it and I have chosen to accept that.

This question is specific to the state of New York – Western Upstate New York to be exact. I also lived in Michigan at a time in my life, will I have to file anything with that state as well? It’s been about 3 years since I have lived there. How long does it take for Chapter 7 bankruptcy to go into effect after all the paperwork is filed?

I am aware that this does not eliminate my student loans as it does most other debts but, will anything happen to my student loans?

After filing, I am looking to rebuild credit with a secured credit card, is this an appropriate route?

Again, thank you for answering these questions for me.
Thank you both. I went into looking for an attorney right away. I didn’t think that I would have been able to afford one but after looking at what my state has to offer as far as attorneys go, it seems in reach.

    Thank you both.

I’m very unfamiliar with tax laws or EDD laws. On my unemployment check is says to state any income that you are receiving, besides the unemployment check. I’m confused, when they say income, do they mean job income only??? Or any income?? I have money saved in the bank and I have other investments that money was put in prior to being unemployed. I’m receiving interest payments from my banking accounts, and my investment. But, thats just interest payments. I additionally, sold items on ebay. However, but ebay is more like a hobby or just to generate extra quick cash. I do realize, I’ll have to pay report and pay taxes on my interest payments, and the money I made on ebay and my unemployment paycheck. However, I guess my question is on the EDD form, do I report my interest that I earn from my bank and investments, and ebay?? I’m just confused, as to what EDD means by generating income when receiving your unemployment check???? thanks in advance.
The EDD form means unemployment development department. Sorry, should have cleared that up. Its not IRS! But, I do understand that you have to report any salary earned, tips, wages, interest payments, and ebay earned money to IRS. However, to clarify my question…. Do I report my interest payments & earned ebay money on my EDD form?? Does anyone out there know the correct answer?? I tried looking it up on the EDD site but didn’t get a clear answer. Same with IRS, didn’t get a specific answer….

I just had the idea of going to america, purely for adventure, fun, excitement, travel, experience, etc. If I were to go, I’d like the option to be able to work to earn extra cash if I need it.

I’ve had a quick glance on a couple of websites, one of them being the UK American embassy. I generally get the impression it’s easier to get a 90 day non-immigrant visa. And have seen something about a ‘Visa Waiver Programme’ or something? For longer stays it can be a bit tougher, and 90 days is ample for me anyway. Although, if it’s possible to get a longer visa I’d look into that too. But I’m not professionally qualified so an extended stay would be harder to have permitted.

Thing is, the list of visas on the website is phenomenal. Which one should I look into?

Surely there are countless people who do similar things to what I’m thinking of, so it must be quite a common area that the ‘visa people’ have to deal with.

I’m twenty and have been drawing my whole life, but in a very casual way. I started when I was very young and mostly drew cartoons, as I got older I became interested in anime so I started learning to draw manga, which really discouraged me. I learned very (very) basic anatomy to work on getting my body proportions somewhat accurate.

Recently I’ve been learning to program video games. I want to do all the work myself, so I began learning about animation. I figure this is a must, because in my opinion the most important thing about a game besides the gameplay itself is the animation.

Step one: Learn to draw properly. Perspective, semi-advanced anatomy, proper shading and coloring, and all this other stuff. My drawing has always been very freestyle, I don’t really care for learning the ins and outs — and I wouldn’t know where to start. Surly I wouldn’t need to start from the very beginning.

But where DO I begin? Are there any effective ways of practicing or certain techniques to master that would improve my artwork at a reasonable pace? My “art” is nowhere near professional. It’s doodles here and there, rarely finished drawings. Mostly ideas for characters, just standing or very basic poses. Ideas, usually rushed. At the same time, I don’t struggle for straight lines and decent circles and I do know a thing or two about basic anatomy and perspective.

I have a lot to learn right now and not an endless supply of cash, so please, if possible, nothing about art classes or how I need to practice around the clock. I don’t want to be a master, I want to be good enough to apply it to new passions. I want a solid enough understanding to get by and apply to my current style.

My husband and i are looking into getting a house next year when our rental lease ends (Jan 08). We plan on spending this year trying to get out of as much debt as possible. We have about $14K of unsecured debt. My credit score is within the 650 range, his is way over 700.

We are in desperate need of some advice as to what we should do this year. We’re both contributing to our company’s 401K programs. Obviously, we need to focus on paying off our debt, but at the same time, we also need to save up for the house.

    Which do we focus on?

I have about $30K in inheritance money that I can get which we will use as the down payment. And that raises a whole different issue about who will own the house, etc (just in case of divorce).

Any advice as to where we should navigate our finances this year will be very helpful. Thanks in advance!

I’m a 19 year old college student, and I’m interested in working at GameStop, mainly because I don’t like my current job (dishwasher at a small restaurant.) My work history includes cutting lawns for my uncle at his properties when I was in middle school, and building the interior of his restaurant last summer after I graduated high school (but the contractor fired me for no reason, mainly because there was nothing for me to do when I got there, and my co-workers told me to wait for him to get there so he could tell me what to do, but he fired me instead.) I cannot stand doing dishes on my weekends for 6 hours, and I think I’d be happy at GameStop. One of my teammates works at a GameStop about 45 minutes from my house, if that means anything. Is it possible that he can get me a job at one closer to my house? How can I get hired, despite my minimal work history? Thanks in advance.

you don’t have to read the whole thing, but if you can please help out in any way if only the first paragraph or only the last that would be great but i spent all night on this literally lol Scientists look back and try to figure out the world before humans existed. To this day, the past before humans walked the Earth is a mystery to even the most intelligent minds. However, science is on the path of discovering new ways to piece the world’s past together through forming theories and experimenting. Many wonder if scientist’s take these too far and this is portrayed through many works in literature. Michael Crichton’s Jurassic Park suggests that some scientific advances are dangerous and unneeded.
In Jurassic Park, scientists create their theory. Scientists attempt to expand the knowledge in the world we live in through extracting dinosaur DNA from bugs found in amber from the Jurassic time period. This makes it possible to clone dinosaurs and make them a living form in the modern world. When paleontologists suggest through their findings that dinosaurs are not so bright, the rich realize that they could make a great amount of money off of a theme park that would safely show live dinosaurs to the public. Therefore, in Jurassic Park it was easy to consider bringing these reptiles into the world since, “one can’t wait to see a ravenous dinosaur up close and personal.” (Hunter; ed. 71) Dinosaurs, in actuality, are proven to have been more like birds and not normally slow. It was more often found that dinosaurs were “lean, quick, mean and networked, the very embodiments of a successful competitive species.” (Hunter, ed. 71) At first, all anyone could see was that this theme park of dinosaurs would be a utopia. But when people added dinosaurs to this world, the natural order became mess and characters had to suffer the consequences of over stepping boundaries that should not have been overstepped. People were eaten by what they had created because curiosity of how the world worked took them too far.
These “unleashed monsters” (Beetz, ed. 2230) proved how physically dangerous they really are. One dinosaur even spits venom, making it unsafe for anyone within fifty feet of it. Children are especially in danger given smaller dinosaurs like to bite at them and the bigger dinosaurs will simply eat them. Business wanted to continue even though their were many accidental deaths involved in the making of this theme park. This is because “they just want to get the cash bandwagon rolling.” (Hunter, ed. 72). This does not just prove that there were issues in the park, this is a warning that dinosaurs are in their unnatural habitat and will not hesitate to attack while business owners went on caring for only themselves. People were now hurting psychologically as well as physically in many aspects. People were being damaged seeing the blood and people being torn to shreds but the business people were psychologically impaired to the extent that they only cared about the money. This creates a vicious cycle while the environment is now dangerously unbalanced as well. Dinosaurs were not supposed to be reproducing in order for the scientists to keep control of their new world and to study it. However, dinosaurs reproduced and scientists were not able to contain them, putting the world in danger because the scientists try to create things of the ecosystem that they barely know much about and cannot balance correctly. By adding the dinosaurs, they added the problems that occurred before the dinosaurs were extinct and allowed the fact that “Velociraptors are the antagonists. Mother Nature’s revenge for human hubris.” (Chapman, ed. 71)
Jurassic Park shows that the scientists want to view science as a way of entertainment for the public. While the public seeks terror for a great adrenaline rush, they also see that dinosaurs are nice enough to be inviting to everyone. The characters do not realize that they are being eaten as a consequence of their actions for allowing science experiments to go too far. The thrill turns from an adrenaline rush to being “thrilled to escape.” (Hunter, ed. 68). “Still, one is left to wonder at the allure of creatures extinct eons ago,”(Hunter, ed. 72) even though the creatures are not supposed to be messed with. This is another reason as to why people are excited to know how the park will turn out. However, when greed and vanity are mixed with a fascination that should be subtle, it can lead to a disaster while “the characters self-assured attitudes towards scientific crisis” (Marowski, ed. 73) only worsens the situation. This is because excessive pride and self-confidence took place while man first began to go too far with science. When this continues and nothing has changed, only disaster will continue until someone stops “the potential for the misuse of science.” (Beetz, ed. 2230) When the park is only about money for the business though “paying for admissions, guided tours, and thrill rides,”
thank you very much 🙂 and this definitely isn’t the whole thing lol
but my teacher actually is the one who helped me make the outline of this.but thanks so much 🙂

I want to give you a quick overview about 7 Figure Marketing School and I want to know what you thing about this project?

The system in this school is very simple, but powerfull:

    1) You learn about Internet Marketing – How to Advertise.
The founder of 7 Figure Marketing School Vick Strizheus is an expert in
Internet Marketing (especially for low cost marketing) and He also invites the Internet Marketers from different ways of marketing to webinars where
is step by step coaching. From pay-per-clik to Solo-ad, twitter, you tube marketing, SEO, article marketing, free marketing and much more… So you can start building your income even if you don´t have a lot of money. This is pretty awesome.
I have to say that these Internet Marketers reveal us their secret. Vick arrange this for us and all members are very gratefull for that. If you want to learn how to market you have to learn from people who are successfull. From people who are making money on internet. This is very important to understand. Because what was working 6 month ago not working now. We have the fresh informations about Internet Marketing.

    2) This is the most exiting. Every wendsday is a webinar about mindset.
These webinars are led by Jeremy Brown. He is a business partner of Bob Proctor. (I thing you know him from the movie Secret). Jeremy also invites the best sucessfull coaches on this planet. I can name John Asarraf, Dani Johnson, Dell Daniels, Dr.Ellie Drake, Gregory Drake, Paul Martinelli….
I have to say that how to do internet marketing is one think (very important) but without proper mindset is very difficult to be successfull. Vick pays these guys for us so we can make a huge advance in all areas in our life. Of course the main goal is making money. For example one hour of coaching from Paul Martinelli is worth $5000. Look at his website and call and ask for yourself this is not a joke. Remember that job of these people is making successfull stories. Very very important.
I am in school for 3 weeks and I made a huge advance in marketing method. It is awesome, but I made a really huge advance in my personal life also, because these mindset webinars are very very awesome and powerfull.

    3) The last think is that you can promote the 7 Figure Marketing School.
Vick set up the system in such a way that I can´t believe it. Potencial of income is unbelievable. If you know how to promote and you have a proper mindset the success is guarantee….
You can make a residual income $50,000 per month in first 6 month and this is really really possible…

I really recommend to check the website and read carefully before you answer. Take the time. This project is for people who are not satisfied with they results in online business. I will guarantee you that you will be blown away just I was.

    Wish you the best.

    Wait for your answer.
    Thank you….

My girlfriend has gotten in over her head with payday loans. Basically she pays 400 dollars a month to borrow 2000, 25% wow. I don’t know how they work, but she has explained to me that she pays them off each pay period but she needs the money so right away she has to get another loan, and it just keeps happening month after month. Is this true? How can that even be possible?

Also so needs to pay these off, as you can see the issues with having no money, and her credit(clearly) is not the best, is there any place that will give her a personal loan for this? Like Citi Fin? She has about 5 grand in medical bills, this loans, and two credit cards. With not very good credit is it possible? Thanks in advance.

so im in a lesbian relationship and we are ready to start a family and get the next step of our lives going. we have talked about it and we are both ready. my gf is going to be 25 and im going to be 22 this year. we have our own place, we both have reliable vehicles, we both have good stable jobs, we have been in a steady very good relationship for almost two years, and we both are well rounded! so now that i have said the basics, my question is are income able to financially care for a child. i make between 2,200 and 2,400 dollars AFTER taxes each month and my gf makes between 900 and 1000 dollars AFTER taxes each month. our rent is 800 a month. my car is 550 a month(including insurance). and my gfs truck insurance is 150 a month. we also have groceries that range around 300 to 400 a month depending. and of the miscellaneous items like toiletries so lets say an extra 100 dollars a month. so, i know its easy just to see what i have at the end of the month after all my expenses but would it be enough to financially support a baby and not be totally broke at the end of the month? this is going to be our first child so the cost of everything isnt really realistic to me yet. i need help and advice from mature people please! thanx in advance!!

I just wish to find out in very simple language
to get ready to start investing if I should trade
    futures, options or stocks?

What are the differences and similarities?
What is the reason for invention of options
and futures as opposed to regular stock?

Also, is it a good idea to invest now
because stock market is going down,
or should I wait before it starts consistently
    going up again?

What is a good amount to start with?

Please keep your answers very simple,
if possible avoid using yield, dividend
    and “complicated” language without
    explaining what it means first.

    Thanks 🙂

My partner and I are moving to Perth early next year, and I keep hearing horrifying things about the rental market at the moment. Multitudes of applicants per rental, rental ‘auctions’, prices through the roof… Its scarey, as we’ve never been there but we both have good jobs to go toand are committed to the move.

My question would be how do we make ourselves stand out as rental applicants? I know theres obvious things like appearance, and references. Also, we are looking for something around $300 per week, $320 max. Can we get something decent around Fremantle for that, without tearing someone apart to get it? I have been looking on, which is a great resource and looks promising. But I need a realistic viewpoint.

    Thanks 🙂
Also my partner will be working in Henderson and I will be in Nedlands. What areas would you suggest we look for rental accomodation? I would like to use public transport, my partner will buy a car. I start at 7:30am he starts at 6am. Thanks!
Also a realistic viewpoint on what it’s like for rental hunters in Perth would be appreciated. Cheers!

How do you teach English overseas with just the basic TEFL/TESOL certificate done online and without any other qualifications or experience.

What sort of places can you find work in and what are the ages of the kids, please as much info as possible (from real experiences)

Which are the best websites for finding the jobs (the ones that don’t require degrees etc!)

I have heard of someone who went straight from school at 18 to Vietnam with just the basics and has stayed for 2 years – she was teaching young children and obviously at her age had no previous experience in any field.

    Thx in advance
Well Michael- looks like I’m off to the Middle East then – hehe!!

Thinking about heading to Toronto for my birthday weekend (3rd weekend in Sept). I want to stay in the Downtown area because that’s where everything is, right?! I’d like some recommendations. Preferably under $130 a night (USD). It’s only going to be for 3 nights and really used for sleeping so I don’t need anything luxurious. However, it should be nice and clean! LOL

If you want to go the extra mile: This will be my first time going to another country. How should I worry about money? Should I use my credit/debit card and only carry some Canadian cash with me? Or.. should I go get a lot of canadian dollars?

    Thanks for any help 🙂
Just want to give an FYI. $130 is a preference and not something mandatory. I’d also like to be near everything.

Anyways, I want to know what classes I should take in High School and what degree I should get in college to better my chances of being an Air Force pilot and to give me a more useful education to use for when I’m a pilot…

I have a cash advance loan out and don’t have the cash to pay it back. If the post dated check goes through I will be in major debt. I wanted to put a stop payment on my check. What action will the lenders take?

  33. Marget June 14, 2013 at 10:15 am #

Whenever there is money on the table, there is a dogfight, to control it

Money has many forms; cash, land, other assets and labor, to name a few

When we were all hunters and gatherers, it was impossible to control anyone, but as technology advanced, it became possible to seize the means of production and those intent on owning and not working, began to work toward control of the labor and turn everyone into slaves

Today, a handful of individuals have organized to gain control of you

The propaganda says that all conspiracy theories are to be ridiculed and dismissed, but some see the conspiracy and do not want to dismiss or ridicule, just yet

Are you the type who plays poker with your friends and leaves all your chips on the table, when you go to the bathroom?

Do you count your chips, before you leave and then count them again when you return, just to make sure that the temptation of easy money did not possess your friends?

If you can’t trust your poker buddies, then how can you trust total strangers

Did you notice that in 1913 they seized control of the currency with the Federal Reserve Act?

In the same year, they passed the income tax law, which never had anything to do with Americans earning wages in America and this income was never taxable, but ignorant Americans are quick to report that income and pay 1/3 of their wages to the IRS

Once the IRS saw that there were fools and suckers, they began to exploit this ignorance and they began to intimidate Americans and some even went to jail, unfairly

Maybe someone will take public office with the intent to abolish this mafia and free us from the slavery, but meanwhile, there is a well-organized conspiracy to continue the crime of robbing Americans of their pay and enslaving large numbers of our people

Are you one of those who ridicules anyone who recognizes a real conspiracy? Whose side are you on? Do you side with the crooks or with the people? Are they paying you? Do you get to keep some of the loot? Maybe you’re a volunteer, working for the crooks, because you think it’s a good cause or something???

Why don’t you side with the people and see the reality of the conspiracy to defraud the public?

Are you aware that inflation comes from the Federal Reserve?

Are you aware that inflation robs savers of their savings?

Maybe you think it’s OK to rob old people and leave them so broke that they can’t afford both medicine and food, in their old age!

If you have never read a book, in your life, then I can understand why you believe everything that the propagandists tell you; They have to control what you think and you have to think something and so you absorb the trash and call it your theory, but it doesn’t make sense

For example, why does it make sense that a conspiracy took place on 9/11, whereby 19 Arab men conspired with one in a cave to bring down 3 buildings?

Most of those men are still alive, today, and they were obviously not on any plane that crashed into a WTC building; Some of them have never been to America, so if you count them in your conspiracy theory, you’re full of propaganda; It didn’t happen!

If you think it had to be a conspiracy by those who benefit when Muslims are blamed, then maybe you are aware of the USS Liberty, in which a Middle Eastern country was caught killing Americans in hopes of having the incident blamed on Muslims, not much different than 9/11

Why don’t do some research to learn more about orgainzed crime, passed off as legitimate government; American and otherwise?

If you are a learned individual, you have no excuse for siding with the gangsters who are in control of our country and in control of other countries, as well

You have to recognize a conspiracy, when one exists

There are those who conspired to attack the USS Liberty and kill Americans and there are those who conspired to kill Americans again, in the 9/11 attack, but Muslims were not involved, according to the evidence, but you don’t have any evidence; All you have is what government told you

You are not only full of propaganda, you’re out there accusing anyone who sees the picture, clearly and has connected the dots; You’re calling them ‘conspiracy theorists’ and you think you’re really smart, don’t you?

Nobody wants to control the 7 billion slaves on the planet

Nobody wants to benefit from their labor, do they?

Controling capital is not what smart people do, is it?

You are not aware that we are referred to as ‘Human Capital’, according to Executive Order 13037

Maybe if it was a flock of sheep, you’d see lambchops and wool and you’d understand

Why don’t you think of people as sheep? Maybe it will be clearer what’s going on

There can’t be a conspiracy to control 7 billion workers, can there?

I have a business credit line with a cash advance limit of $2500. I need to make a cash or check payment of $6500 using the credit line monies and paying by credit card is not an option. I have no idea how to do this. I am in a real jam and could really use some help. If anyone knows how to get around this or has any alternate payment methods, I would love to hear them. Thank you all for your help!

  36. Lloyd June 15, 2013 at 10:25 am #

resigned from my old job, they owed me about 1k in commision, due to start my new job next week in london, just been paid and they have only paid half my basic, (fair enough i left after 10 days into the month by MUTUAL consent) but haven’t paid me any commission they owed me. Before i left I checked the system and they were due to pay me. Other commisions (about another £400) would be held for 3 months in case any cancellations happen. Also they owe me holiday pay as well.
This has stuffed me up as i am due to start a job in london next week and now can’t afford to pay my monthly outgoings, let alone find a couple of hundred quid to get to london and back each day for a month. Therefore i need to get some cash and quick. I haven’t a good credit rating due to recklessness as a 18yr old so can’t borrow the cash. Any ideas?
will get onto CAB to try and get money back but that will take a while to sort out!
i completed all the deals, all the way through to the end, one deal i signed up in feb this year and because of cock ups by the company only just got it through, but that not been paid either!
i have got a database of existing customers, what kit they have and how much they are paying, should i sell this to the main competitor?

Exactly how do you get a credit cards cash advance? I know you go to the ATM, but I don’t have a pin number to use.

  38. Rima June 16, 2013 at 1:56 am #

Everybody knows using a credit card at the ATM or bank will qualify the transaction as a cash advance and cash advances carry a rather high rate. However today I heard a bit on the news;how to make money off of the credit card companies rather than them making it off of you. It featured some investment guru who talked about using available balances on credit cards for investments that have a higher rate of return than the credit card carries. I have a 0% until July 2007 with plenty to invest if I decided to do this, but how would I avoid the cash advance rate if it would be regarded as cash? Are there any investments that would list the transaction as a purchase? Please help, I am confused.

I just trying to get a small cash advance or payday loan directly from a lender but keep bumping into this sites that you fill out the form for them to find me a lender but keep getting referred to more sites like them and never reaching a direct lender.

  41. Sierra June 16, 2013 at 12:37 pm #

I realise that loan sharks used or still break legs to get their money but banks that participate in cash advances are no better, they charge $20 to every hundred same as loans sharks used to or still do but yet the banks are allowed to do this without any repercussions! I have a friend that went for a payday loan to get ahead and he’s worse off now, reaaly sad how the system stomps the little guy.

  43. Leonardo June 16, 2013 at 8:19 pm #

I am closing tomorrow on my first home. People, not the realtor told me that you should not do any cash advance or purchases with your credit card. You should also not do any loans because the banks pulls your credit report right before the closing and they don’t like to see any purchases or loans. I was told today that I might have to pay something at the table tomorrow at closing. Just in case I wanted to take out 1000 from one of my credit cards in case it was more than what I have. Do you think If I do a cash advance or signature loan 2 hours before the closing that it will show up in my credit report? I’ve heard that the credit report does an update monthly not daily or hourly. Please let me know what you know =)
Well, they know I had money in my savings because they verified that. I had $9k I gave $3k to for the contract and canceled it before the 15 days because I still wasnt approve and then I gave again $3k and did another contract and canceled again because I still wasnt approved and then now the last time $3k which is what they are returning back to me tomorrow at the closing. So, they should be aware that I have money and due to the delay in the approval I had to cancel and re-due the contract to hold the apt.

  46. Pura June 17, 2013 at 12:01 am #

Could you give me legal advice on my problem?I am planning to render my resignation but i am worried because i still have cash advances on my company? I’m not happy with my work and i had an offer with other companies which have the same nature of business with my current company.
In addition to that, I still have plan to pay my balance by issuing a post dated checks, because i don’t have enough money to pay that in full.

    thank you!

But they are wanting me to pay back in 4 very high payments and i cant do it. I can pay them probably $100 each pay. Will they work with me? What will happen if i cant pay them back in these 4 high payments? And can i go to jail?

  55. Berna June 20, 2013 at 1:09 am #

it says in the fine print that interest on cash advances don’t have a grace period, aka they start charging interest the day you make the advance. so does this mean that if i got a $500 advance, and my rate is 25%, then i’m going to get charged $120 the first day, then 25% of $620 the second day, and so on until i pay it off? because that seems a little outrageous.

We have a set amount of a permanent cash advance we give to employees. Sometimes they go out on on site jobs that can last weeks, but we don’t want them to carry huge amounts of cash to cover lodging, meals and other misc expenses or materials for job. I know American express limits cash withdraws to $1,000 a week. They say they allow higher amounts based on your cash advance line, but how much will they allow you to withdraw on a weekly basis?
I just curious how high their weekly cash withdrawal limit is? $2,500, $5,000, entire cash advance line. Again this is the weekly limit not the amount of the cash line.

And using the money to buy stocks.

Generally, these cash advance offers I have been receiving are for 6 months, but I might be able to find one for one year.
After that, you are required to pay interest.

So, I borrow $10,000 dollars from my card at 0% (free money) and invest it. I pay it all back before the interest charges start kicking in. If you know of a better investment than stocks, tell me.

  89. Allen August 8, 2013 at 7:38 pm #

i havent made any cash advances on my credit card.
the fee was for 7 dollars this month and last month as well.
the only thing i might have done wrong was not paying my bill every month as they gave me that option. there is also a finance charge of around 4 dollars a month.
